What a wonderful experience. We got exercise, we learned about this environment, we enjoyed one another's company, and we came away refreshed, proud of our accomplishment, and even a bit tired. It was perfect.

This trip was a great introduction to the Road Scholar experience. Beautiful area, charming inn, and experienced leaders made the trip a delight. This truly is a great value as well. The flexible hiking options each day made it easy to find a hike that worked for everyone. I did take my pre-trip training seriously and that made the difference in my overall enjoyment of the experience. Loved my time on the AT!

This was an excellent program. It is well organized with a wonderful, clearly enumerated, selection of daily hikes to choose from. Each offering was specific to level of difficulty, and accurately described. The lodging was lovely, the bed was WONDERFUL, and the setting spectacular. I can't wait to go back!

You can do it! Hard, middle and stroll options make this a perfect choice to get outside and hike the Appalachian Trail. Spend the rest of the time in luxury at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. History and nature and lots and lots of pampering.

This was an excellent program, exceeding my expectations. The staff, hikes, accomodation, were all really exceptional. Thoroughly recommend.

The Shawnee Inn is a terrific place to stay, with great friendly staff, an indoor pool and hottub, and well-located for exploring the Poconos. The large 37-person group was divided into four levels, which helped a lot with the hiking not being too long or too fast/slow for the participant. The trails tended to be very rocky and steep, and use of good hiking boots and walking sticks is highly desirable. There was an easy 2-3 mile program on flat trails available for the less active participant.
