Great Camp Sagamore is a beautiful property, and we enjoyed meeting so many well-traveled peers during this adventure. Walking tours led by the assistant director (Jeff) are excellent, and go forward despite the constant rain and mist our group faced in late September. Lodgings at the camp vary from dormitory quality to cozy fireplaced suites, and assignments are made at random for Road Scholar participants, causing some concern for our group. Food is fairly hearty but focuses on low-budget ingredients in keeping with Sagamore's limited financial resources, so be sure to bring healthy snacks to supplement the meals. A boat trip on the lake would have added to the overall experience at Sagamore, but it did not fit into the program schedule.

Excellent presenters were very knowledgeable and passionate about their topics. The accommodations were great. The pace of the days’ schedules was very good, with wonderful sessions interspersed with enough time between so that we did not feel rushed. The presenters not only imparted great info, but also challenged us to think through the ethics of maintaining and restoring places of historical significance like Great Camp Sagamore. I would highly recommend this trip.

Just returned home, and I have already described it to several friends and some family members. For me i was "a sentimental journey" and did not disappoint.
