See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

My grandson and I loved our Yellowstone adventure! We hiked, kayaked, biked, rode horses and learned so much about this amazing area of our country. My grandson chose this adventure and we were not disappointed--the instructors and activities were all first class--kudos Road Scholar-you rock!!

My husband and I took our 9 year old grand twins on to the Roads Scholar inter generational trip to Yellowstone National Park. Our grandchildren had a great time and so did we. The trip was well organized, the instructors were very knowledgeable, very good with children and made the whole experience fun. I recommend this once in a life time experience to all grandparents.

I would highly recommend this program. It is very well organized with most time planned with activities. It was my first experience with Road Scholar and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was very informative; staff and group participants were welcoming, enthusiastic and enjoyable.

Well planned, educational, and very enjoyable. Our guide Andrea was extremely knowledgeable, a great communicator, and patient with the kids (and the adults). Highly recommend the program.

Road Scholar intergenerational activities are outstanding. I would especially recommend the Yellowstone Adventure for Grand Kids and Grandparents. I am sure there are other outstanding intergenerational activities as well. So far I have completed three such activities and will attend more in the future.

What a great experience for all of us. Our 10 year old grandson especially enjoyed the Grizzly and wolf discovery center, the kayaking and horse back riding. Relaxing in the pool with the other kids was a good way to socialize. Denise Wade was outstanding

Want to have the time of your life with your grandchild? Come on an adventure to Yellowstone National Park with Road Scholar. The leaders will present a world of natural beauty, interesting pertinent material in unique ways to keep you interested. Lots of outdoor activity and happy faces on the children -- life in the natural world rather than the tech world, where they don't look up to see what's around them.

This is a wonderful program. I'll always treasure the opportunity I had in just seeing the amazement in my grandchildren's eyes when they saw the wonders of Yellowstone. This program is so very well run.....I'm not sure who had more fun, the grandchildren or the grandparents.

My grandson helped me complete the evaluation for the program as we waited for our plane home. We could mark nothing but "excellent" in all categories. He wants to do another Road Scholar program next summer. Our guide was so knowledgeable and kid savvy, and the outfitters were top notch all the way. A great week in a fabulous place!

Our educational adventure to Yellowstone allowed me to see me grandson in a "new light". At his home, my grandson spends a lot of time playing video games, but in this atmosphere he rode a horse, rode a bike, hiked and paddled a kayak. I have never seen him do activities like this and I found out that he really enjoys doing a lot of activities. I also found out that he likes to socialize and have fun with other kids! I was delighted with this trip and I enjoyed everything we experienced. I would recommend it to anyone who would like an amazing adventure with their grandchild.
