This provides a marvelous opportunity to enjoy a new culture and the great outdoors with your grandchild. This trip was one of the best I've done with the intergenerational road scholar trips - well organized, well paced, and filled with unique birds and animals that most of us don't see at home. Terrific leaders as well!

This is a wonderful program for many reasons. The country is beautiful, the guides were well informed and child oriented and the adventures captivating and educational. The grandparents enjoyed their grandchildren and each other. For my grandson and me, it was a magical week. Elmore Rigamer, New Orleans

An outstanding trip for grandparents and grandchildren, combining high adventure and a real learning experience. We will treasure the memory of traveling with our 10 year old granddaughter, and sharing the thrill of zip lining at the end of the trip.

The second day there are two visits, first to an environmental center where you see up close many of the plants and animals you will see during the tour. Second to a Children's museum which a guide took us through showing a bit of the history of Costa Rica. There are two seasons on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica--Rainy and Rainier. Prepare for that. Seeing the turtles lay eggs was a once in a lifetime experience. The explanation of the uses of the coconut was informative and entertaining. We had Coconut fudge which he made while he talked. The program does not say to but TAKE BINOCULARS if you wish to see a lot of the habitat in the wild. Howler monkeys did not know what time zone we were on as they woke us at 5AM on the second day--even with my ear plugs. We saw two other types of monkeys and both types of sloths. Lots of iguanas all over the forest. The volcano was cloud covered but the clouds lifted some on the second day. The lecture was thorough. On to the west coast and a trip up a river of Crocodiles and a great many birds, They provided pictures with names of the birds so it was a bit easier to identify them. Sea Kayaks were fun and I was amazed by the salt content of the water-it held my 189 lb body up with no problem. The next day it was the zip lines yes 12 of them for a total of 3.5 KM. This old body did great and I consider it a high point. The hotels we occupied were very good and food ranged from very good to great. Lots of rice and beans. This was an adults perspective but I think my 9 year old grandson would agree with the review.

If you want to learn more about a fascinating country - its culture, natural attractions and diversity, this program is highly recommended. From the Atlantic side to the Pacific, there is so much to see and do. It's also a photographer's paradise.

This program was truly a tropical adventure as described, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for adventure, beauty, knowledge, and interaction with their grandchild. These guides shared their country in a very special way for all ages.

Of the 9 trips I have made with each of my grandchildren, this fulfilled all my hopes and dreams. We both found parts of the trip that we enjoyed together as well as opportunities to share the fun and knowledge with others. We laughed and learned together.
