Road Scholar
Program #20781RJ
22 Days | 21 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program provides you a very nice mix of small and big towns, castles, chateaus, and cathedrals and is quite active. I would recommend that you spend an extra day or two at the end in Paris. All in all, it is a very nice tour and one I would highly recommend, especially for first time visiters to France.

The trip was a wonderful learning experience covering French history, culture, food and wine. It met my expectations completely. I highly recommend it to others who want to learn more about France than just Paris. Our guide was excellent, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Terrific food, terrific guide, loads of learning. So much to see and do. Road Scholar makes the most of every minute. Great group of people all interested in getting the most education. We are already looking at the Road Scholar programs for our next trip.

This trip of France was wonderful. There was more walking than I thought there would be and a lot more steps. The food was wonderful and our guide was the best.

This program fulfilled my "bucket list" dream to get to France! So much variety kept me engaged and learning all the time. The 21 days didn't seem long enough!

Michael from Palm Harbor, FL Number of programs attended: 19
Date attended: 09/25/13 - 10/14/13
As already indicated, the only problem/s with the program were just how successful & beautiful the Louvre (& Versailles) were on Saturdays & Sundays. This attracted far too many eager Parisians as well as visitors. Would have been better on week days when the crowds were "packing 'em in."

Thomas from Saint Paul, MN Number of programs attended: 12
Date attended: 09/25/13 - 10/14/13
The program Survey of France is definitely one to consider. We visited many regions of France, had opportunities to sample local cuisines, wines and gain an appreciation of the regional culture and history. Group leaders and guides were excellent and the accommodations in local hotels added to our experiences. If you want a hotel like a Holiday Inn or Radisson this tour is not for you. When we returned from our tour we dreamt of France and all we experienced for two full weeks. This has never happened to us before and speaks volumes for the quality of the experiences offered.

This program was my first international program (I have done 16 in the U.S.) and I was extremely pleased. The program provided a very broad overview of France. The educational quality was very good with excellent instructors. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Hotels varied considerably which I enjoyed since it gave a sense of the old and the new. I highly recommend this program. Make sure that you are physically able to climb several steps and walk at a moderate pace to keep up with the group.
