Croatia by Yacht is a delightful program. Beautiful medieval towns on the clear, blue Adriatic coast. Picturesque and extremely informative.

Croatia is a beautiful country with gorgeous scenery, wonderful food and warm, welcoming people. Enjoying it from the comfort of a private yacht, cruising along the scenic coast, made it even more relaxing. I learned so much about a place I formerly knew little, was so pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness, the beauty of each place we visited, swimming in the warm Adriatic at the end of October! Loved the ease of having everything taken care of by Road Scholar and our excellent group leader, Matija. Can't wait to go back to Croatia and can't wait to go on another Road Scholar program!

Croatia by Yacht was fantastic. I would HIGHLY recommend this adventure. Two major reasons for the success were the GREAT group leader, Matija Radic; and the captain and the crew of the Futura. Exploring the vast history and the cultures of the Dalmation Coast and its people was so educational. A photographer's dream. The trip exceeded all of my expectations.

Absolutely the best way to experience and appreciate the rich history and life of the Dalmation Coast!

Croatia can crow justly about the Adriatic jewels it has to offer along its island-dotted coast, and seeing them from the M/S Barbara, the 41-meter yacht that is home during the week's sail from island to island, is just about the perfect way to go. Our only discomfort arose from the dicey weather that afflicted us off and on during the week and forced us into a safe harbor on an island that was originally not on our itinerary. But that island, Sipan, proved to be a hit precisely because it was not as touristed or developed the others we saw. That detour and the weather did not, however, deter us from making stops in all the towns and villages anticipated, from Split, to Trogir, to Hvar, to Korcula, to Mjlet National Park, each more fascinating than the last. And our final port of Dubrovnik lived up to its billing as the best saved for last. Even though we had to disembark in Dubrovnik, our adventuring was not at an end since we continued on for another two days overland by bus to Montenegro where we had a fabulous seaside resort, and got to visit the UNESCO protected Kotor medieval city. This is one Adventure Abroad that definitely merits its hype!

This is a wonderful program. The Futura, our yacht, was spacious and comfortable, the food first rate, the tours at each of our stops educational and fun. Our tour guide, Matai, was most knowledgeable and we all enjoyed his lectures. We were fortunate in having ideal weather - sunshine and seventies, and several times we had the opportunity to swim in the Adriatic Sea. The Dalmatian Coast is just beautiful.

Croatia by Yacht: the Islands and People of the Dalmatian Coast was absolutely beautiful in October!

The Dalmation Coast is best experienced by this trip on a beautiful small yacht.

Fabulous study tour to a fascinating country on a luxurious yacht with interesting people! What more could you want! One of the best RS trips I have taken over the past 10 years.

If you can't find Yugoslavia on the map, this might be the program for you. Our guide, Mirela, led us through the complicated history of this former federation. I'm sure she laughed a lot at our attempt to pronounce Croatian words. This was a very enjoyable trip that included ancient palaces, castles, national parks, and spectacular islands and coastline and a very comfortable ship.

We have been on several Road Scholar trips but this one for me was tops. The yacht was enjoyable and adventurous, with its small size we got to know our fellow travelers quickly. Our guide Matija Radic was our best guide ever. Croatia is a beautiful country, its history fascinating, the Dalmatian coast and islands absolutely beautiful and the Croatian people warm and friendly. This trip will be hard to beat.

I highly recommend this trip to anyone who is willing to fully experience a different part of today's world as well the oldest history. The ship, staff, guides were all exceptional.

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous Road Scholar cruise along the Dalmatian coast. I cannot believe how smoothly everything went -- the tour guide, Matija Radic, was extremely well informed and went well beyond expectations. I really can think of nothing that could have been improved and am already looking through the Road Scholar catalog to choose our next program! Many thanks, Road Scholar: keep up the great work!

Croatia by Yacht and the Extension: Croatia's Capital and Beautiful Lakes These tours were exceptional and far exceeded expectations from start to finish. The tour leader was amazing and doing the islands by small yacht is by far the best way. I had been told years ago by a colleague who lived in the former Yugoslavia that the seacoast of his country was very beautiful and historic --now that I have experienced it, I cannot agree more. Road Scholar has produced a real gem with these tours .

This was a thoroughly delightful program. Two highlights I would single out: the experience of traveling on the yacht Barbara; and our superb Group Leader, Matija.

This is a very interesting place to visit. The tour was wonderful as was the extension. The size of the group was good - 26. The ship was beautiful, comfortable and a joy on which to travel. I recommend this program.

The trip was wonderful with a fantastic leader and great guides and crew. We learned so much about the history and culture of the country and really enjoyed our fellow passengers. Highly recommend this program.

Fantastic sites visited. Great guides. Great ship and staff. Too many meals on board (while in port). Trip to Herceg Novi on Split to Dubrovnik run not worth the time and effort - stay in Dubrovnik another day. Not enough time under sail versus motoring - but this could be weather driven/time issue on my trip. Anticipate group size more toward max capacity than less.

This is an exciting trip in a gorgeous part of the world. The boat experience and lectures were very positive and nicely balanced with tours and field trips on land.

Linda from Los Angeles Croatia is an absolute jewel. Croatians love their country and their history! Learned so much from Alen our leader! Great trip. Chemistry among the group was superb! This greatly enhanced our experience. I think that the participants also taught each other a lot! The tour guides that met us on various island and cities were great! Leah and Carmen especially! Crew on the Barbara: Shoutout to Heidi and Marco and the Captain: wonderful!

Breath taking landscape, beautiful historic and well preserved towns by the sea, wonderful food and incredible people who have as their main aim the pursue of your happiness. What else can you ask for. The addition of a well organized tour lead by Alan Staresina who added to the experience the knowledge and the passion to share the treasures of his country. I particularly loved the lectures given by local university professors which vary from experts on olive oil to experts on the fauna going through old and modern history. I enjoyed every local guide we had particularly in Hvar and Korcula. In regards to the ship I believe ours was the most beautiful and well kept ship of its kind in the area. The crew was excellent, service superb and food fantastic (local cuisine) and plenty. In essence if was a incredible successful and wonderful trip toped by the interaction with wonderful and interesting people we had the pleasure to share it with.
