Sicily is a fascinating place with a unique history and culture. I would recommend this trip for anyone who loves Italy and history. If you're lucky enough to get our excellent guide, Enrico, your experience will be enhanced.

I learned so much about the history of Sicily. Three thousand years of different cultures and peoples who came to one place.

Treasures of Sicily is a great tour with a great guide, Enrico Nucci. Enrico's patience and sense of humor made the tour carefree and fun. The sites we visited showed us all aspects of the cultures that settled Sicily, Greek, Roman, Arab and Norman. We learned about life in Sicily today as well. This trip is well organized. I recommend it.

I was very happy with the trip to Sicily. First of all, I want to mention that I was impressed with instructors, and they are obviously of a very high quality. Enrico Nucci was knowledgeable and helpful. Laura Lanza was probably one of the best guides I ever had in my many years of travel. Her presentations were interesting and well organized, and she presented them with a lot of humor and in a manner that made them easy to understand and remember. Angelo Fanara was also very good, with great presentation skills and organized information. I also want to compliment the program organizers for the choice of hotels; they were comfortable and well located. And finally, we had a wonderful fun loving group of people who made my vacation even more enjoyable. Thank you all. Sophia

Loved Sicily, and Enrico was a fabulous leader. We were kept very busy, and it was hotter and more humid than predicted, but it was worth the effort. Our fellow travelers were all congenial, and the group melded well. As a crossroads in the Mediterranean, many travelers have left their marks in Sicily over the centuries, and I learned so much about that. Go to Sicily on this program is you are o.k. with an active learning experience.

Just returned from our Sicily trip last week. Enrico Nucci was also our guide and he was outstanding. The food, lectures, field trips, and companionship was superb. We had 31 paricipants in the program. The only disappointment that RS had no control over was the loss of our luggage by Alitalia airlines in Rome. One member of our party received her luggage on the fourth day, three others on the eighth day, and mine delivered on the nineth day. I would suggest anyone traveling to or through Italy to consider not checking your luggage if at all possible. We have heard stories of many other paricipants who have lost their luggage using this airlines.

Just returned from the Treasures of Sicily trip led by Enrico Nucci. The trip was fabulous! It was our first Road Scholar trip and our experience exceeded our expectations. Enrico is a top notch leader who is very knowledgable, funny and kind. Sicily is beautiful and very historical. The educational lectures enhanced our whole understanding of all the many varied sights we explored. It was an all around fun trip that enhanced my knowledge of Sicily and what makes it so special and so different. I would recommend it without any reservations.

The lectures and wonderful guides enhanced this excellent program. The leader, Enrico, is very knowledgeable, perfect english-speaker, and with a charming personality. The three hotels and locations are well chosen and very good quality. Apart from the ancient sites and stunning scenery, highlights for me were visits to local farms and families where we had lunches. The food was very local, even in the hotels, so leave your American palate behind and enjoy the Sicilian delights.

Excellent program. This program had an excellent group leader named Enrico ("Rico"). He was a great lecturer and guide. Sicily is a very interesting, autonomous region of Italy. The food is unique and very good. The history dates back to 1500 BC and there are many well preserved Greek and Roman ruins. The hotels were all 4-star and excellent.

I second Robert from Lebanon below. We loved the trip, which was truly eye-opening. You do have to be fit to walk the pavements as described. And Erice really is chilly!

A Road Scholar sponsored trip to Sicily is essential & very rewarding in understanding the continuum of human history from ancient times to the present particularly its birth in the Mediterranian basin. The scenery is awe-inspiring & the weather perfect. I highly recommend it. From someone who has visited 60+ countries on 7 continents !

Sicily is full of delightful surprises - from the tropical eastern coast of Giardini-Naxos across the island with its beautiful agricultural fields and vineyards - to Palermo. The mosaics that we saw are some of the most beautiful in all of Italy. Our guide, Enrico, was the best. A really well- organized program. Thanks so much.

Ah Sicily! Having been in Rome, Florence and Venice in April 2011, I was encouraged by the leader, Dominico Nucci, to visit Sicily where his brother has been leading groups for 14 years. I liked Dominico so much because of his being half American that I though, why not? Enrico Nucci was terrific. Great sense of humor, very patient and kind to all and above all, knowledgable in all things Sicilian! I really did not know much about Sicily prior to the trip so this visit has taught me a lot. The small book on the suggested reading list, "Sicily, an illustrated history" was very helpful preparation. Now I want to go to Turkey for 16 nights! Fellow travelers are the best commercials for Road Scholar trips!
