Program #6855RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The Balloon Fiesta should be on everyone's bucket list.

Rose Wesson, Fredericksburg, VA Of all the Road Scholar trips I have taken, this, The Balloon Festival, was the most colorful, most interesting with topics relating to the area of the festival, and which included the substitute trip covering another culture which contributed to the history of Albuequerqe. Thanks to Karen and the speakers, there were interesting activities and educational lectures about the Indigenous people, the Spanish, and Mexican people of the area.

Wonderful experience - TV just doesn't come close to the feeling of 500 balloons in the air at one time

The Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon trip exceeded my expectations! The Fiesta experience was magical and exciting in the set-up and mass assension of the balloons. The history and information, the field trips to Acoma Pueblo and old town museums, and fellow travelers on this trip who were welcoming and friendly added so much to the entire experience. Highly recommed this trip!

Once again, Karen and Dick did a fantastic job of juggling our schedule to fit weather conditions so that everyone could enjoy as much of the balloons as possible. This is a wonderful program and covers a variety of experiences in addition to the balloon fiesta.

Great idea. Written evaluations at the close of a program like this would have been almost impossible. Being able to reflect after a few days is very helpful

Linda from Springfield,Va. Number of programs attended: 9 Date attended: 10/7 to 10/13/12 I totally agree this was an awesome experience. You just have to be on the field to understand how the Balloon Fiesta works. Our leader Dick made sure we all had an amazing experience whatever we did. Thanks!

I took the 10/7 to 7/13/2012 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta program and found it to be delightful. Karen, our leader, was always there for any questions and the instructors were very informative. The people in our group were friendly which added to the enjoyment of this program. Our Park District in my town also offered this trip but I do not think they would have been so flexible in arranging to change days in order to observe two launches of the balloons. This was my first Road Scholar trip and I look forward to going on another in the future.] Mary B Wheaton, IL

This is an awesome trip. There is no way anyone could describe the scope of the Balloon Fiesta, the incredible mountains/landscaping, and the Indian culture. It was such an amazing trip that I would recommend to anyone.
