Very interesting trip with good instruction. I felt it was worthwhile. The weather prevented many sunny day shots until the last day.

Peter's instruction was wonderful and practical and I take better photos today than I did before the trip. Trinity Center is amazing - to have the Sound on one side and the ocean on the other, and both in easy walking distance, was outstanding. Our rooms were newly redone, large, and very pleasant. The staff took great care of us. Despite snow and ice it was a wonderful program.

Terrific location, excellent accommodations, and interesting field trips. This is a good program for photographers who want to learn the non-automatic features of their camera or for those just wanting to photograph in the Outer Banks.

This was a great class and a wonderful North Carolina experience. I learned a lot about digital photography, and how to make the most out of my camera. My photos will never be the same! Now I know how to improve and I came home with a new hobby, new know how and new friends. This was a super class to take as a first experience with Roads Scholar. There was a good balance between classroom time and time to explore the area and try out what we learned in class. Lots of fun and a good challenge too. The Trinity Center is in a beautiful location. The staff was warm, friendly and knowledgable. The food was down home delicious.

I *loved* this program! My experience with cameras was always pretty much stuck on "auto," but this taught me how to go beyond that and take good pictures with planning, not just by accident or dumb luck. For those who need to look at activity level, I would rate this as Easy Plus or Moderate Minus. I don't do steps well, but was able to keep up and go where the rest of the group did, except down the steps to the beach on the Atlantic side of the property, but I found another beach with a ramp so I was able to get closer shots.

Our instructor said that at the end of the course we should ask ourselves two questions: Did we enjoy the course? and Was it a worth our time? I would answer a strong yes to both questions. Our class was filled with eager, friendly people who really wanted to learn. Despite the fact that the skill level of the class stretched from novice to a former professional film photographer, everyone worked together to learn and enjoy the class material and the lessons. Each question was integrated into the lesson so that no one hesitated to participate. The venue, The Trinity Center, was perfect. Rustic, scenically beautiful, more than adequate facilities, great meals, and a wonderfully accommodating staff made every day special. The location is perfect for coastal photography with a private beach area and is located within a few minutes drive of an historical site and several historical coastal towns and villages. Two field trips were offered to entertain us and to sharpen our photographic skills. They were well coordinated and added a lot to the enjoyment of the class. I recommend this class for anyone new to photography or, like myself, trying to transition from film to digital photography.
