While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The trips put on by Road Scholar are without any doubt the very best I have encountered. The lecturors, accommodations, busses and meals are always representative of the area of attendance and of the highest quality. I have NEVER been taken for a shopping tour during one of their trips. Thank you Road Scholar.

The trip to Patagonia was wonderful! The hotels were nice, the ship was a pleasure, the food was delicious! WE had one of the best leaders yet in Horatio. I would recommend this to anyone interested in seeing a beautiful part of the world.

There was such amazing variety in this fabulous program. We went from the city of Buenos Aires to tiny Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. The views in Tierra del Fuego were gorgeous. The four nights on the MV Australis traveling through icy waters were just amazing. The ship was fabulous and trips on the Zodiak rafts were wonderful. It was magical to move through fields of ice to see blue glaciers. When we returned to the rafts after walks, we were greeted with hot chocolate, whiskey, and glacier ice. Then it was on to the Ecocamp staying in log-fire-heated domes under starry skies and with views of the Torres del Paine. The trip was ended in sunny, warm Santiago where we visited a beautiful winery. What a marvelous trip! Our tour leader, Horacio Cavilli, did a fabulous job making the trip a cohesive whole.

This is a great program - interesting, educational and fun. Our group leader, Horacio Cavilli, was excellent and the local guides and lecturers were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They all truly seemed to enjoy imparting their expertise to us. The program was so varied in the activities and venues that it made for a very interesting, active and fun two weeks. I would definitely recommend this program especially to those who enjoy being outside and active.
