Susan from Jeffersonville, IN Number of programs attended: 1 Date attended: 08/10/14 - 08/16/14 As a newbie to program, I would recommend this adventure for the single traveler. Everyone was friendly, helpful and a wealth of knowledge of great trips. Great if you love walking and I always felt safe.

This trip is a fine example of the value of Road Scholar for the single traveler. Our group had a sizable contingent of singles from various places around the country. All were enjoyable travel companions for the week. The group as a whole was agreeable and meal time conversation was rich with their various life experience.
I appreciated all the preparation by the various educational speakers and presenters. In both Shaker Village and Berea I felt enriched by the educational component.
And bring your walking shoes! Both Shaker Village and Berea are very inviting places to set out on foot and explore. Shaker Village is a relaxing and lovely place to walk and listen to the birds.

Shaker Village is very relaxing and educational. Beautiful surroundings and healthy food. Clean air and plenty of opportunity to explore the outdoors. Berea is a small college town with very nice people everywhere you go. We need to take back a piece of it to our own hometowns.

A wonderful trip. My first visit to the South. Our group had lots of experience with Roads Scholar, which encourages me to take more of these trips. Our hosts and speakers were excellent, the accommodations were wonderful.

The program was surprisingly educational. Having been born near the area, I was delighted to find out so much new information. It is also easy to get to and is just a day's drive from the entire midwest. The charm of the Kentucky hosts and hostesses was so genuine. Everyone tried to make our stay enjoyable, and the food was very good. Lots of vegetables, great desserts.

Pete from Rescue, Calif. Number of programs attended, over 20 Date attended 11/16/13-11/23/13 Great program, what made the program so special were the presenters. Two of the best were Susan Hughes at the Shakers Village and Jason Howard at Berea College. Two different subjects, however both very interesting. Great state and wonderful people.

Jane from Dayton, OH Number of programs attended: 71

Berea and Shaker Village are very different in environment, but both high quality, and delightful to experience. The pace of the program is comfortable but informative in a very pleasant manner. The week spend in central Kentucky with his program was a highlight and I recommend it without reservation.
