A wonderful experience with six days of lectures and field trips. Presentations on subjects from Indian cultures and music and literature, geology, geography, history and pre-history, Spanish history, Native American history, Jewish history, political science, anthropology, agriculture, environmental issues, religion, cooperative spirituality, art, photography, literature, story telling from the "old west", as well as trips to museums, concerts, Indian festivals, national parks. I felt like I've been to Graduate School with a different field of study for morning and afternoon lectures every day. Lots of stimulating provocative thought processes. We got extensive reading lists that will keep us busy and informed for months ahead. There is a deep sense of spirituality in all things, creatures, peoples, landscapes, and a cooperation among the various cultures and peoples of the areas. We also had a half-day visit to Los Alamos (and all that invokes) -- this seems so out of place in New Mexico, and the world.

You never know who you will meet on these trips. Sitting at my table one evening was a couple from North Carolina. Since I had gone to high school and college there I spoke to them about it. It turned our that the husband and I graduated in the same graduating class in high schhol but had never known one another.

This was a great introduction to northern New Mexico, an area we had visited several times, but which we did not have the background RS provided to appreciate the history and culture of the area. Excellent speakers (as usual!), fascinating topics, and well planned field excursions make this a truly grand learning experience. We are now motivated to participate in a similar program encompassing southern New Mexico. Thank you Road Scholar - you have once again enhanced our lives.

This program was very well organized. The group leaders and speakers were excellent and much was learned. I also enjoyed the field trips and the accommodations and food were very good. As always the particpants were a great group of people from diverse backgrounds and places.

There were too many people, Most meals were spent with people asking where you were from. The choice of cheesecake twice a day for dessert for of a group of over 50, half of whom were on cholesterol lowering drugs, seemed a bit diabolic. poor if not

Wonderful itinerary, fabulous staff equals a great trip. The few problems that we experienced were a result of the large group size. Transporting over 200 people from one place to another at the same time is cumbersome at best. However, the staff made every effort to "ease the pain". Good job RS. Looking forward to more trips.

As a first-time "Roadie," I was not aware that the size of our group was larger than that of other Road Scholar adventures. I was able to adapt very quickly since I had no expectations or previous experience with which to compare. I was impressed by the quality of the lectures and, even though some of the excursions were not of great depth, I was glad for the opportunity to be exposed to so many important sites. I did things on this trip that I wouldn't have experienced otherwise, i.e., water-color painting and a relaxing flute-guitar concert. Thank you, Road Scholar, for making my excursion to Santa Fe possible and for including my airfare!

Santa Fe was a great location for a gathering. There were a lot of things to see. The instructors were good and presented their topics well. With a wide variety of topics there were presentations that would interest a lot of people. But the size of the group also presented problems. First, we never had a chance to bond as a group - we met a couple people for the first time on the bus returning to the airport on the last day. Mainly the program had continuing logisltical problems from start to finish. We were moved to a new hotel - but nobody at RS told us. We found out at the registration desk of the Hilton. Even preparing to leave on the last day we were given written and oral instructions to be in a specific location. After the bus driver told people that was impossible RS finally acknowledged a mistake. I think that RS personnel were overwhelmed by the size of the group. I would consider returning to Santa Fe to enjoy the program with a smaller group.

Road Scholar has become my No. 1 option for traveling solo after my first eight-day trip with them to New Mexico. I couldn't have been happier with the 275 folks who went and with the several field trips that made me feel like I really got to know the state.

The classes were excellent and the presenters outstanding. I learned a great deal. I do prefer a small group program however - maybe next time. The people I met will be remembered with fondness. I like to "make new friends and keep the old; one is silver and the other gold."

Mary Ann from Titusville, Florida As a newbie I did not know exactly what to expect but I was prepared for adventure. I had a great time, met interesting people and had a crash on New Mexico from a very knowledgable staff that went the extra mile to make things right. I looking for my next adventure!!!

My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our Road Scholar Experience. Hats off especially to all of the RS Guides and Associates from the Santa Fe and Boston offices, who went the extra mile to smooth out any of the minor bumps that can and do occur with a program of this size. Every time a minor glitch happened they were quick and responsive to remedy the situation. We enjoyed the quality and choices of classes & lectures. The selection of field trips were fantastic. A special thanks to our Guide Tom whose love and knowledge of New Mexico was quite apparent. His zeal coupled with our Apache bus driver was icing on a wonderful cake of enjoyment. We look forward to joining Road Scholars again in the future. (William & Mary Alt, Glen Rock, PA)

This was my first experience with such a large group with Road Scholar. While I prefer smaller groups because it makes it easier to spend more time with new friends, this program has a lot to offer. Such an abundance of classes, field trips and food. I admit we skipped class a couple of times to do some exploring of Santa Fe.

The hiccups were so minor considering the number of attendees and the wide variety of classes and field trips. I learned so much about the land and the people. Overall the coordination and quality were amazing. Great job, Road Scholar!!

Overall, I was very satisfied with this program. There were a few communication "hiccups": un-coorfdinated bus pick-up at the airport, and loading buses after the dinner at Buffalo Thunder (instructions to board any bus when people had left personal items on the bus when they first arrived, expecting to take the same one back to their hotels). However, I feel the quality of the classes and knowledge of the group leaders more than made up for these issues. Some thoughts going forward: add more free time to idependently explore, without having to "cut" classes; reduce the number of included lunches and dinners, to encourage folks to try local restaurants; having all participants in one hotel is a "must", but this should be offset by reducing the number of program attendees.

Unfortunately I had to leave a few days early because of a sudden family emergency an it was just amazing how fast it was expedited. The whole process of getting me back home took less than 15 minutes and by the time I got back to the hotel my boarding pass was printed and arrangements for me to get to the airport were done!!! Thank you for taking such good care of all of us!!!!
