We found the program to be most enjoyable. Lots of information regarding transportation development during the settlement years of the area and the national expansion westward. A worthy experience. Recommended.

Excellent program. Very well organized with knowledgeable guides. Facilities and all staff very accommodating and the meals were varied and quite good. Jessica from Westtown, Pa. Number of programs attended 45

I was not pleased with the program. Much time was wasted riding the bus. Two trips to Cumberland were unnecessary. We could have leisurely viewed the canal terminus in the morning and taken the train ride to Frostburg in the afternoon. The train ride we took on the first day at Cumberland was unexciting. There was also a dearth of good lectures. I rank this program as dead last on my list of 9 Road Scholar programs attended.

I was very pleased with the whole trip. I picked it for my husband but I enjoyed it very much. The staff was outstanding.

The conference center is in a very rural setting and the rooms, though clean and adequate, do not have a tv or access to internet or wifi and cell phone reception was spotty. There were no room attendants but plenty of clean linens were available. The food was good but if you did not like or were allergic to something, shellfish for example, there was no alternative. The program was very well rounded and did touch on all forms of transportation and its history in the United States. The presenters were interesting and the staff and program director were all pleasant and helpful. I considered it a good value for the money.

This program could be called "The History of Transpertation". It was a very good overview of the Westword movement from the mid 1700s to the present. The location is a very nice conference center. The accomidations were clean and well managed. But being a conference center, there was not TV or telephone or wifi in the rooms. (Wifi of sorts was in the lobby and cell phone of sorts in the parking lot.) The food was good for institution food but there was not much selection if you didn't care for what they offered. Overall this was a very good program and worth you time and money.
