If you are curious about the Far East, this is a good Road Scholar program. For the last fifty years these poor people have endured everything. Now they have a chance to emerge to a more secure and prosperous life, but only if the rest of the world helps and doesn't exploit them. This Road Scholar program helps one to understand.

Terrific program and one that Americans should experience. We learned a lot, met some interesting and friendly folks, and had the best tour leader anyone could want (Thuy). All around great trip (except for the seats on the tran-Pacific flights!).

Just returned from a fantastic trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. As always on a RS trip, we saw and did so much more than we ever could have on our own, and our guide, Thuy, was instrumental in making these countries come alive ... her humour and her knowledge of the area really enhanced the trip. The hotels were uniformly wonderful, and the food gave us a real taste of the area (and Thuy was thoughtful enough to give us a break from local food one evening!). I'd highly recommend this experience (although be prepared for humidity unlike anything outside a sauna!)

What an amazing trip! We fled the typhoon in Vietnam, being whisked to safety without any drama at all, thanks to our leader, Man Minh Duong's intelligence and Road Scholar's preparations for any eventuality. We had wonderful accomodations, good transportation, great food, but best of all was our warm and intelligent group, including 3 really special guides through Vietnam and Cambodia. My husband's return to Vietnam after 43 years was clarifying and reassuring for him, and we had wonderful support from our new friends in the group. Thank you.
