this was one of the most rewarding program we have done with Road Scholar. I still think of the experience every day, mostly about the wonderful Cuban people. The experience has truly changed my life in a positive way. I feel that I had the opportunity to become an ambassador among peoples

This is an outstanding trip. Martin Crossland, our Road Scholar guide, Cuban guide Jose and driver Guillermo were a wonderful combination and made the trip as smooth and trouble free as could be. Cuba is a fascinating country full of contradictions but friendly, colorful and filled with artistry. All the hotels were adequate and usually centrally located. Meals were hearty with lots of meat dishes but skimpy on vegetables. Salad consisting of cabbage, tomato and cucumber was the norm. Rice and beans were a constant. They were served in a variety of restaurants, some private, but many times in formerly elegant homes which the government has kept up and which were beautiful. Trips consisted of urban and rural (even including a rodeo) with many visits to individual's homes, both well off and poorer which gave a good overview of life in Cuba. Most of the lectures were informative with articulate speakers on various topics relevant to Cuba. Some did not speak English so Jose had the job of translating which he did admirably. I would highly recommend this trip.

Guides were wonderful!!! Program was exactly as described, a chance to meet with people and learn about life in Cuba. We were able to see first hand what 50 plus years of communism has accomplished. How have the people fared? Go and see...the answers will surprise you and you will want to learn more. Our tour ended just before the presidential election and a visit by the President of the Federation of Russian States who stayed in our hotel!! Exciting. Great trip. Absolutely 5 stars. Excellent US tour leader, Cuban program guide and driver. Modern Chinese bus with toilet for emergencies. Great that the program spans from Santiuago de Cuba in East to Havana that allows you to see the wide diversity of terrain, villages and people of Cuba.

I was delighted with the size of the group traveling to Cuba. I was pleased at the extensive time and places visited during our two weeks. Our guides and bus driver always had our safety and interests at heart. They worked hard to please all of the people. I would love to travel with the three of them again.

The Cuba program was excellent and a must for those wanting to learn more about this country, its delightful people, its economy, and the political issues that divide it from the U.S.
