Program #13845RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our five days in Yellowstone with Lee Harry, our instructor. He is such a pleasant person and his enthusiasm for the area came through in his talks about the history, geology, and, especially the animals and plants in the Park. Even though we had been to Yellowstone twice before, we learned a lot, as we enjoyed the hikes and picnics and explored with our fellow Road Scholars. Motel in Gardiner was comfortable, and the location is convenient to the town and to the Park. Good program!

The Road Scholar trip to Yellowstone was beautiful, educational, interesting, & fun. Our tour of the land & its sights showed us some amazing uniqueness in this part of the country. Our experience in & around Yellowstone was exceptional.

Our leaders, Gene & Roy, knew the best places to spot wildlife. Opportunities of a lifetime - through viewing scopes we saw 6 bears (including a mom and 3 cubs; ) through binoculars we saw many mama bisons execute their plan to protect their calves from 4 wolves that had ideas about where to get dinner. Bonus was hearing the wolves howl and bark! Our group of participants were fun and caring. Roy & Gene told many stories to give us the spirit of folks that love life in MT, WY and the park!

This is the third RoadScholar program we have done and, by far, the best one. Yellowstone is a fantastic place (we had never been before) and Dr. Raven, our instructor, is an alsolute gem. We saw many iconic places (Old Faithful, mud pots, etc.) and many, many animals (all the buffalo you would ever want to see!) There were scheduling and equipment problems which need to be fixed (try not to go when the local high school has graduation!)but I must admit I'd do it all over again.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the "Yellowstone: The Great Caldera" program June 2-7, 2013. A visit to Yellowstone was a trip my husband has looked forward to for years, and Road Scholar provided excellent leadership and we acquired knowledge on subject matter we previously hadn't given much though and now are interested in expanding upon what we learned. Dr. Raven has a vast amount of knowledge on numerous topics and presented them in a manner which was easily understood and interesting, plus, her sense of humor was delightful.

My RS trip to Yellowstone was outstanding. I strongly recommend it. I am so pleased that I was able to see so much of the park with expert guidance along the way.
