I attended the Finals of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. I found the whole experience very worthwhile and enjoyable. It met all my expectations in terms of music performance, education, organization, accommodation and delightful attendees. I highly recommend.

I thought that this was an outstanding program. The hotel was excellent (and could not have been in a better location), as were the included meals. (I especially enjoyed the variety of cuisines that were offered.) But the highlight, of course, was the music, and all six of the finalists gave amazing performances. Even the non-finalists that we heard at noon one day were wonderful. The various lectures offered by the Cliburn Foundation were very enjoyable, but what really set this program apart were the discussions with Dr. Kent Cook about the music that we were to hear and then afterwards what we had heard.

The entire Cliburn program was a delight--hearing the 12 semi-finalists and choosing our favorites, listening to Kent Cook give informed, interesting, and comprehensive comments on the music we would hear that day, visiting with other members of our group during meals at well-chosen restaurants in the area. The whole program was well planned and an event to remember!

For classical music fans, The Cliburn Int'l. Piano Competition at Ft. Worth is something not to be missed (held every 4 years). Lovely rooms across street from Bass Performing Hall,at Embassy Suites; very good restaurants (one exceptional in hotel, itself), easily walked to. The Caliber of the pianists is incomparable.

The Van Cliburn Piano Competition in Ft. Worth, TX, June 5-10, 2013, was a very positive experience. The quality of events, meals, accommodations, and venues was high and the dollar value was commendable. I can recommend this program to musicians and non-musicians who enjoy symphonic and piano music.

Excellent program. Intense. Well organized. Very educational and enjoyable. Too bad the Van Cliburn only occurs once every 4 years.

The semi-finals of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition were magnificent. The music, of course, was exceptional. In addition, the speakers were well chosen. It was interesting to have some of the presenters attend meals and concerts with us, making it possible to have interesting conversations with them. With only 18 participants, it was easy to get to know each other. I had a wonderful time.

If you enjoy Symphony performances as much as I do, this is an excellent choice. Lovely city, beautiful peformance hall, hotel right across the street, great restaurants----what more could one want? Shirley McManigal Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
