EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We had a great time! After reading some of the reviews, I was very worried about space in the cabins, and it's true that it's very limited, but we had space under the rack to stow small bags/luggage. Only one person can be standing at a time so it's a good thing that we only had to be in the cabins to sleep. Showering was a close-quarter experience so most of the guys went without - and without shaving as well. They truely embrassed the whole "roughing" it at sea. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs 'cause you will be sleeping with your closest 7 friends and some of them will snore! Capt Mike and his crew were wonderful. They let us play sailor as much (or as little) as we wanted. Chef Bill and his galley crew kept us well fed. The program was just the right length. I don't think I could have taken one more night of sleeping in those HARD racks. We got into Camden a day early and stayed a day longer. Camden is a wonderful little town. We stayed at the Cedar Crest Inn. Yes, it's only a 15 minute walk to the Angelique and it's all downhill; but, that means at the end of the trip, it's all uphill and if you are carrying luggage, it's a long walk back up the hill. Getting a ride up the hill from a fellow Elder was a joy - as was the hot shower and soft bed.

For my first Road Scholar adventure, my feelings rather reflect those lyrics from Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore: "We are sober men & true, and our saucy ship's a beauty." However, I REALLY OVERPACKED and skimped on my camera equipment - it still worked out. The programs by Bud (Maritime)and Barbara (Natural History)were well done and thorough. Food was excllent! (Yes, they remembered my allergy.) Captain & crew were very compentent, courteous, friendly and helpful. Interesting and varied passengers on this trip; nice conversations. Forewarned by Dianne, I adjusted to the cabin/bunkspace (upper). [They did say: "SNUG, safe and 19th CENTURY REPLICA".] We sailed where the wind took us, had great weather, and I'd sure do it again. It's just that by the time you figure it all out and maybe get some of it right, it's time to go home!

I have sailed on many tall ships all over the world and the Angelique is one of the best. It was a treat to sail on this replica of a 19th century ship. Yes, quarters are tight, and if sailing for you means a liner, then perhaps this is not for you. But the scenery was beautiful, the crew knowledgeable and friendly, and the food, excellent and abundant. The captain is extremely capable and could, I feel, handle any event. Just relax and enjoy. Don't sweat the small stuff.

If you decide this is for you: know in advance there is absolutely no room for a suitcase. I had to sleep with my suitcase for the duration, and opening it to get clean clothes was a chore. This was an add on trip, so I did have more than a backpack which is about all you should plan on. The educational programs by Bud were usually ill timed and the content and presentation scattered. Barbara however, was a delight and I wish we had much more of her wonderful presentations. The food was okay, meat always overcooked, pies and breads were outstanding! I love Road Scholar, but this is one trip that I could not recommend.

When we signed up for a windjammer cruise , we knew we would be in tight berths with shared bathroom space ... it is a sailing vessel after all.

We had fantastic weather , good wind (which determines where we go). Captain Mike and crew were unbelievably able shipmen and considerably courteous as well.

But the unexpected pleasure of such a professional galley crew won us all over .

I plan to go again .

This was a fantastic experience. We were offered the opportunity to assist with the raising and lowering of sails and I tried to do it all. The food was wonderful and unfortunately I now have to lose 3-4 pounds. The lobster bake on Pond Island was really great.
The accomodations were what should be expected on a boat of this size (not the Allure of the Seas) but that was fine by me. I slept well and the whole trip was very relaxing.
Capt'n McHenry and his crew were trememdous. They clearly know how to handle a boat and I loved every minute of the experience.
My only complaint is that it was not a longer voyage. I will do this trip again and again, if at all possible. By the way I am 67 and none of the sea motions or ladders bothered me.
Life gets no better than this.

Very nice experience; I gained weight and now have to lose it, but I would do an excursion again. In general we were lucky with the weather.

Please do not take this trip unless you are a boy scout or a yoga master. Cabins impossibly cramped. Cannot sit up in either upper or lower bunk. Bring nothing larger than a daypack. I was unable to open my suitcase the entire week. Access to cabins and head/shower via ladders which are very steep/scary. On my trip, one couple left after the first night, before we had left the dock. No itinerary promised, because you do not "go" anywhere.
