ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Hike to the edge of canyons, breathe in the sage/juniper scented air, exhale. Wonder at lives and times past, marvel at the colours of the canyons, breathe, exhale.

I didn’t understand how complex and widespread the Anasazi civilization was before taking this tour. I had visited several of the site on this tour on my own but never really appreciated the ingenuity of the people. While a few of the excursions proved too strenuous for a few of our group, but they were accommodated as well as possible. Even if you miss one or two excursions, the remainder make the trip well worth the price of admission.

The tour of Anasazi sites in the Four Corners region will delight not only archaeology buffs, but those whose spirits are touched by the expansiveness and beauty of the Southwest!

Beautiful scenery, incredible ancient Indian ruins, delightful co-travelers and most importantly the ‘Road Scholar crew’ that made this trip absolutely outstanding! Our coordinator Lisa kept us well informed and dealt with last minute requests with efficiency, humor and grace; our study guide Rich shared his passion for the archaeology of the ancient Indian ruins that we visited, drawing from his deep knowledge of the area he has worked in over the years; and finally our motor coach driver Martin, who handled everything with professionalism and ease. I loved the combination of Indian sites, museums, learning, camaraderie and outdoor hiking. I thought the planning regarding the amount of activity from day-to-day was very good. A wonderful experience-I’m still smiling when I think about it.

Connie and I have extensive amateur experience in Amerindian archaeology, particularly in California sites. We had a long-held desire to see these most significant locations. We were delighted with the range of sites covered by this program, as well as the high-quality educational content of the presentations. Most satisfactory!

Edita from Pleasant Hill, CA Number of programs attended: 1

I am happy that I participated in this program. I learned a tremendous amount about Indian history and culture and the situation of Indians in this country at the present time, which un-fortunately is not a happy one.

You'll learn a great deal about the ancient Pueblo peoples and see some spectacular country.

There is an astonishing world you can visit in the "4 Corners" region of the US, and it will teach you about an important group of our early inhabitants.
