Great opportunity to photograph some of the best landscapes and wild animals anywhere. Our leaders Ryan and Drew were experienced, knowledgeable and made the entire trip run like clockwork. Highly recommended.

Definitely a great program. Ryan and Drew were excellent. Always had everything prepared to keep us on track to see all the great sites in this area. Both are excellent photographers and were able to help with new photographic techniques or problems. We got a great amount of landscape and wildlife photo opportunities.

Wonderful program. Drew and Ryan were great experts on the area and photography! The day at Earthfire Instute was unbelievable!!! Thanks to Sue and Jean for letting us join them with their amazing animals. Also, the fall colors were exceptional.

This was a program I attended because my husband is interested in photography and I thought I would just enjoy tagging along. Little did I realize that halfway into the week I would be hooked! Fortunately, I had my own camera or I would have been frustrated waiting to take my own pictures. The field trips were informal, feedback was immediate if you asked for it and individual sessions were helpful with problems that you encountered or questions that you were too shy to ask in a public setting. The trip was well organized and time allotted in different settings was adequate. We had many animal sightings which we were able to take advantage of. The instructors were quick to give us information to help us take the best pictures with the weather and subject. The 14 individuals on the tour were fascinating and happy to share their photographic knowledge with each other. Truly a wonderful experience that I will look back at fondly.

I miss you all already! What a great trip. Thanks to all of you for making my first visit to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons so much fun. The beautiful scenery will always be there, but you guys made it special. And many, many thanks to Ryan and Dan for all their "behind the scenes" efforts on our behalf. Hope to see you again on future excursions.

Ryan Kirkpatrick and Dan Peha were a great team to lead the group and provide instruction for our photography shoots in a variety of situations. The participants were amazingly fun and bonded to form a group that was welcoming to all. Accommodations, food, and transportation were all very good.

Leni from Westlake Village, CA Number of programs attended: 13

This was my third trip with Mountain and Plains Institute and they have all been excellent. Our days were planned so that we were in great locations when the light was optimal. Wildlife was sought and we stopped to take advantage of sightings. We were able to have a lot free time at Old Faithful to pursue our own interests. Best of all, help was always available when sought. The slides show on our final evening showed how individualistic we were able to be within a group setting.

Gordon from Lethbridge, AB Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 05/31/15 - 06/06/15
This was a great introduction to Grand Teton and Yellowstone parks. There was plenty of opportunity to get out and photograph and many times we stopped along the road to take advantages of wildlife sightings. I was very impressed with the overall program.

This trip exceeded all my expectations. The guides from Mountains and Plains Institute were knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and laid-back. I couldn't have asked for a better week. Even the weather was perfect. Now, I just have to get through my 2000 photos!!!

Michael from Mundelein, IL Number of programs attended: 3
Date attended: 09/20/14 - 09/26/14
This program was terrific! There were so many highlights that I don't want to try to list them all but Earthfire Institute as well as the iconic scenery were at the top of the list. We stayed near Old Faithful and as I was taking sunrise pictures, it erupted on two mornings in a row with the sun rising behind it. What a treat. Ryan and Drew were outstanding trip leaders and the meals were better than I expected. If you want some great pics to take home, take this trip.

Kathleen from Bourne, MA Number of programs attended: 1

Having just returned and still have not gone though all the photos LOL…I can say this program was beyond expectations. Drew and Ryan made this trip an unforgettable experience. You get a great overview of Yellowstone and Tetons hitting a lot of places in a short time. I would highly recommend it …. you won't regret it!

Jane from Saratoga Springs, NY Number of programs attended: 2

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip with Ryan and Dan. They provided everything we needed and more. I liked the idea that this was a photo field experience, so we could ask for help when needed. They took us to some of the most scenic areas of both parks, and Ryan even cleaned our bus windows every morning so we could photograph from the windows if we saw wildlife--like bison--along the road. Enjoyed the people, the food, and the lodging in the Old Faithful Snow Lodge cottages.

Gene from West End, NC Number of programs attended: 2

The Advanced Nature Photography in Yellowstone and Grand Teton program is excellent for anyone interested in photography. All levels of photographic knowledge are adequate for participation in this program, which is well organized and has great leadership. If you are relatively new to photography, you will learn a lot with this program.

Carol from Corona Del Mar, CA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 05/26/14 - 06/01/14
This is a program suitable for all levels of photographers – there is always something new to learn, and enough time to do your own thing should you choose. The advantage of a smallish group being shown the many locations of photographic interest in both parks at the right times of day, in a comfortable coach, can’t be denied! All in all, our first Road Scholar adventure exceeded our expectations and provided us with wonderful memories and memorable photos! Thanks, Ryan and Drew, for your tireless enthusiasm, assistance, and groan-worthy jokes.

Timothy from New York, NY Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 05/26/14 - 06/01/14
This program is just right for the person who is experienced in photography, but wants to improve their skills. ....And this can happen in two of our most beautiful national parks. I personally learned a great deal, enjoyed the early morning photo shoots to watch the light move over the mountains and experienced nature on a new level. As the saying goes...just do it! You won't regret it.

William from Clarkston, WA Number of programs attended: 1

If you have an interest in photography, you would like to expand your skills and learn to get the most from your equipment, you value quality instruction from professionals, and you want to see a wide variety of interesting landscapes and patterns presented in ideal lighting conditions, then this is the program for you. I came into the program with high expectations and these expectations were exceeded on almost every front.
