Cultural Adventues on Cape Breton Island was a wonderful program! The hosts and presenters were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The accommodations and meals were modest but clean, delicious and healthy. The weather was less than desirable, but I think when I went it was late in the season--October 9-15. I want to go back! I learned so much!

Cabot Shores is a beautiful place. The atmosphere is relaxed and relaxing - no tv! The accommodations are comfortable without being luxurious, the meals are simple, and the staff helpful - and fun! Activities on water and land are interesting, and learning something about the history and culture of the area, both from Gaelic and Native Canadian perspectives was fascinating. If you want a program in a peaceful setting with the opportunity for meditation by exploring the beautiful property, and fairly strenuous activities ( hikes and water) this program is for you

This is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. The landscape was breathtaking, Paul and Barbara were warm and funny, the food was worthy of a gourmet restaurant, and the cultural adventures were priceless. Can a person ever get tired of lobster? Not.

I had a wonderful time on this trip. We stayed in a 2-story, comfortable, classy chalet. Food was 5-star. Hosts Paul and Barbara made everyone welcome. Our adventures/entertainment included daily (sometimes twice daily) hikes, fresh-caught lobster dinner accompanied by the fisherman describing her (yes, her) demanding lifestyle, boat trip to nearby bird islands to see many nesting species, plus visits by diving eagles, a Gaelic language immersion session, Scottish oat cakes cooking demonstration, Mi'kmaq Indian cultural presentation including shared ceremony, and best of all, 4 live Celtic music presentations. You'll love it!
