I have been on 14 Road Scholar programs - this one was certainly one of the most interesting. We were learning every minute and we could easliy see history everywhere - but also what life is like now in Philadelphia. Our accommodations were superb and the local restaurant in our hotel - one of the best.

This is a wonderful introduction to the city of Philadelphia. If you like to walk, love cities, and enjoy history, this is the trip for you.

It was a very nice introduction to Philadelphia. I have many ideas for a return visit to this walkable city on my own.

Perfect experience. Lovely hotel and even as a vegetarian, the food was varied and tasty. The program was fantastic with enough variety to satisfy all my interests in this city. I ran the "Rocky" steps to the Art Museum and signed the Constitution. I came away more patriotic and with lots of interesting and interested new friends. Our guide Fred was generous with his vast knowledge of his beloved Philly and kept up a good pace with little "extras" along the way.

As a single traveler it allows for a lot of experiences one might miss.

Excellent combination of excursions and lectures. This is my third Road Scholar program, and I have enjoyed each one, but this one was particularly memorable. I was pleasantly surprised by how great of a city Philadelphia actually is! Our guide (Fred) did a wonderful job of ensuring that we enjoyed our stay in the City of Brotherly Love, and pointing out items that many visitors miss (e.g., the Dream Garden mosaic in the Curtis Center). In addition, our accomodations (the Radisson - Warwick) and all of the meals were outstanding!

We just returned from this marvelous program. We had never been to Philadelphia, and came away with a wonderful overview of this vibrant city and all its historical events, different neighborhoods, architecture, and abundance of wonderful restaurants. It was a great learning experience. It was fast paced, but we enjoyed that. There were quite a few opportunities to do quite a bit of walking, and we enjoyed that very much. For those that did not wish to walk, there were many alternatives that were readily available and inexpensive. Our accomodations were very good at the Radisson Warwick Hotel, and all of our meals were quite good. Our leader, Fred, a native Philadelphian, did an excellent job with our group and was fun to be with. I would highly recommend this program.

This is a wonderful program with lots of information by well-informed speakers and docents. The accommodations at the Club Quarters were very good, and the meals at Davio's Restaurant were also very good.

The program is rated # 3 for physical activity, but sometimes I felt the pace was fast, not allowing enough time to meander through all the exhibits especially the Liberty Bell. I did skip some of the events, but made that choice to do so to rest up for the others.

Our program director Fred was very good about providing taxi money for us to return to the Club Quarters if we needed to, due to the pace of the program.

I would like to do this program again, there is so much wonderful "historical stuff" to see in Philly. Thanks Road Scholar for providing this very educational program for us "elders."
