Road Scholar
Program #20393RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

not sure how RS arrives the high rating for this program...
many problems including disorganization, extremely poor food at the hotel, guides at some museums never appeared to lead the group, schedule changed 3 times in one week!
Tables at the restaurants where lunch was included were tightly packed and no one had elbow room, guide walked much too quickly for most of the group to catch up. Rated low by several members on this trip! C.A.S.

The program is a fascinating exploration of the South Beach Area of Miami Beach. Besides the expected subject of Art Deco, we were exposed to South Beach’s role in WW2 and American Jewish history. Thanks to our group leader, Frank S., an “urban naturalist”, we were introduced to the flora and fauna of South Beach… Exotic and plentiful…Bring binoculars if Frank is your leader… Location of the hotel, South Seas, gave access to the beach area for early sunrise walks or evening strolls. Evenings were generally free for own pursuits and dining. The see and be seen places, Lincoln Road, Ocean Blvd, and Espanola Way, are but a short walk. So do a little homework on your own as to what to see and where to dine before coming.
