This was one of my favorite programs of all the 15+ I have attended. It was a great mix of activities and venues. The kayaking was wonderful. The most outstanding thing about this program, however, was the unique experience of being accepted into a small and caring family that is rightfully proud of a precious and disappearing way of life: the "real Florida."
All the activities gave a clear picture of how people and environment were woven together with sinewy threads to make a home, a community and a heritage. Loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed this program. One special thing that added to our enjoyment was the warm, welcoming nature of the whole community in White Springs. We felt we truly got to know the local folks. The wonderful home-cooked meals by various church groups and service organizations were high points. There was a nice blend of activities in the outdoors and fun and informative evening activities. Kayaking on the Ichetucknee River was the best we have experienced in all our Road Scholar outings. We would absolutely recommend this program.
