Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I learned so much about San Antonio and the Hill Country. Was fascinated by the LBJ Ranch and the history of the ranch. Our group leader Christina was excellent. The history of the area was a learning experience for me. The visit to Fredericksburg and the National Museum of the Pacific War were great.

Well organized.Covered a variety of venues- Riverwalk, Museums, Historic district. A highlight was a day in the Texas Hill Country, starting at the LBJ Ranch.

Very interesting lesson in history of the area

This was my husband's first program, and since he comes from a family that doesn't do tours, he was very reluctant. But, the first full day had not even passed when he declared, "I'm sold!" We are now signed up for 2 more Road Scholar programs. Christina was a charming guide who went the extra mile. San Antonio, and the surrounding countryside, has so much to see and do. And the view from our room persuaded us to stay 2 extra nights in San Antonio.

I enjoyed this trip very much. Our leader added many little additions to program to add to our fun

I really enjoyed this program and I am glad I could learn so much about Texas. However, I think I do have to learn more English to be able to enjoy more the company of so wonderful americans - all of them.

I never had a desire to go to San Antonio. My friends selected the destination and so I went. The program was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. San Antonio rocks! I plan to do more travel with Road Scholar.

Ann from Melbourne, FL Number of programs attended: 2

We loved the program in San Antonio. It was well organized and interesting. We can highly recommend it.

Susan from Soquel, CA Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
I never intended to go to Texas--hot, dry, and the people didn't appeal to me. This trip corrected all my prejudices about the people and the land. The lessons, subtle or direct, about the diverse peoples who settled our country, especially Texas, were very worthwhile.

Margaret from Lancaster, PA Number of programs attended: 1

This was a delightful trip. Our leader, Christina, was fabulous! It was a great time of the year for Texas wildflowers.

Linda from Buffalo, NY Number of programs attended: 8
Date attended: 03/25/12 - 03/30/12
Texas is not a state I might have chosen but wanted a warmer weather location. I was not disappointed. Not only was the weather terrific but the city was more than I had expected...vibrant, exciting and fun!!

Carol from Park Ridge, IL Number of programs attended: 11
Date attended: 10/30/11 - 11/04/11
Overall this was a fun program. Della and Kitty were excellent leaders and full of information. The Crockett Hotel was okay except I thought they charged too much to use the computer . . $6.00 for 20 minutes. To me this program should have been rated a 4. I wore a pedometer and we walked anywhere from 2 to 3 1/2 miles every day! That was a bit much for me. I'm still recovering!
