Road Scholar programs are a great value and you always learn something, along with enjoying good food and making new friends. We really enjoy the hiking programs and recommend The Smokey Mountains.

This was my first Road Scholar trip so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be a wonderful introduction to Road Scholar.
The Great Smokey Mountains are absolutely beautiful and I definitly will come back to explore more.
I thought there was more hiking than we had, but it turned out to be just enough. One day we had quite a bit of rain and only 6 of our group continued with the hike. Because of the rocky trail and the slippery ground it was challenging. But in the end, we were happy we did it.
On our last day we went to an area where we were able to see elk and wild turkeys. We had a picnic near a stream and for me that was the highlight of the trip.
The different speakers we had were all excellent and gave us so much information about the area.
I only wish we had one afternoon for free time. Because we didn't I was unable to explore the area of Lake Junaluska which is where our hotel was.
