The program was well organized and most interesting. The lecturers were real professionals who knew how to communicate well in a class situation. Our tour leader was very good provided extra bus time to view the greater Las Vegas area. Thanks so much and don't leave any fingerprints!!

Suzanne from Lakewood, CO Number of programs attended: 1

This was my first RS program, and I was impressed! The setup, the content, the accommodations, the instructors (definitely the instructors!!), the tour leader. This program gave a lot of value for the cost. Even the food was very good, something I don't expect in a hotel like Harrah's. Hats off, too, to the other participants. Everyone was friendly and courteous, and this is no small matter when it comes to tour groups! The program provided through UNLV was very, very interesting. Great way to spend 5 days. I look forward to my next RS adventure.

"Soup to Nuts" one of the best organized programs I've ever attended. Questions were anticipated and answered quickly and politely, making my worries evaporate, and my experience enriched.

"Only 55% of murder cases arrest and convict a murderer." Come see how law enforcement is upping the odds of success! Science is the answer.

Janice from Crawfordsvlle, IN Number of programs attended: 7
Date attended: 09/28/15 - 10/02/15
I'm from Indiana and I liked the chance to come to Las Vegas, stay in the most convenient location, have a very lively director who told and showed us everything about the area, and also be able to take in 3 shows during our interesting program. Excellent!

Marillyn from Windsor, CT Number of programs attended: 10
Date attended: 03/09/15 - 03/13/15
Learn how our law enforcement officers really work to solve crimes. It's not necessarily the same as on TV!!!

Mary Ann from Vancouver, WA Number of programs attended: 14
Date attended: 01/26/15 - 01/30/15
This is a program that will increase your knowledge of crime fighting, how various techniques are used in sloving the crimes, and how the average citizen can help the police do their jobs.

Martha from Forney, TX Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/06/14 - 10/10/14
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone interested in forensics.

Robert from Los Gatos, CA Number of programs attended: 10

Daniel from Dunedin, FL Number of programs attended: 11
Date attended: 06/02/14 - 06/06/14
On a scale of 10 I would give course a 7 but the hotel a 4 LV is just too american for me bad choice for learning.. the jail like classroom was a poor choice. Uncomfortable chairs,, NO where to escape ! Hotel room too small Noisy AC Leader was good,,. Having been on about 10 RS programs I know u can do better DF

evette from San Carlos, CA Number of programs attended: 1

Evette from California. This was my first experience with Road Scholar. I was very impressed. Everyone from our guide to the presenters and guests on the trip were great. I love blending education with travel and this trip fit the bill.

Martin from Brookfield, CT Number of programs attended: 16
Date attended: 06/02/14 - 06/06/14
To date I have taken over 20 domestic or international road scholar trips. I found it unfortunate that a prior reviewer was so disappointed. I think it is more a reflection of unreasonable expectations and her not doing proper research in the reasons for her disappointment. I found the program more than met my expectations. The speakers were very knowledgeable about their chosen field. Naturally some speakers are better than others. And the leader was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable in promoting Las Vegas beyond its reputation as a gambling Mecca.

Joanne from Mesa, AZ Number of programs attended: 1

If you like CSI television shows, get ready to have the myths busted. But the classes are better than any television show, especially the days with the homicide detective and forensic specialist, as they walk you through what they do at a crime scene. There is a lot of sitting, but I don't see any way around that because of the lecture nature of the presentations. Beginning the class with the bomb-sniffing canine was terrific, as Ruthie was put through her paces. I would have preferred that the arson captain walk us through a scene rather than give so many statistics, however. The forensic dentist was also very interesting. I would certainly recommend this class to anyone interested in this topic. The leader of the group was also an exceptionally well-informed guide to the city. This was an added bonus, even for those of us who have grown up in Nevada.

Ruth from Silver Spring, MD Number of programs attended: 9

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Great speakers, very nice and friendly participants. The leader was great, even tho he had some pretty bad jokes. Some, of course, were good, but I don't remember any of them. I also enjoyed the rides to class with sightseeing and bits of history included.

Laura from Huntington, NY Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 06/02/14 - 06/06/14
This is a course where you leave the hotel and go by bus to a "dump", as quoted by the guide; and then sit for long periods of time. Lunch requires going to another location by bus, and then returning to the class without a classroom break. I was not able to continue after the first day, because I have neck/back herniations and I could not sit that long. Unfortunately, for me, this was a waste of money. Anyone with these issues should NOT take this cours.

John from Lakeland, FL Number of programs attended: 1

Outstanding trip.a Classroom trip not a walking trip. Outstanding how CSI really works.

Henry from Houston, TX Number of programs attended: 3
Date attended: 04/28/14 - 05/02/14
This program was excellent, well planned and executed. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, especially actual case studies. The visits to the morgue and jail were a plus. Nathan, our guide, was terrific - well informed and organized. Great monetary value for program, hotel and meals. All of the speakers were experts in their fields and were very interesting.

16 in program. 3/10/14 - 3/14/14 Palma & Mitch from SC Our first Road Scholar trip and it was WONDERFUL. The classes were very interesting and informative. I am a fan of Forensic Shows so it was awesome to see and hear the "real story" My husband went because I was a fan but he loved it and was glad that he went. Nathan, our tour guide, was great and kept us entertained on the bus while pointing out the sights. The hotel was in walking distance of shows and attractions. The buffet at the hotel was great and the staff was very friendly. The food at UNLV was great, too. Salads and fresh fruit not the food we were used to at college. I would highly recommend this trip!

Virginia from Tucson, AZ Number of programs attended: 16

This was a fabulous program and real value for the money. Harrah’s is an older strip hotel, but it is right in the center of all the activity in Las Vegas and you can walk anywhere. The food buffets at Harrah’s were excellent and the cafeteria/commons food at the UNLV was outstanding. This high quality and varied food choices for student living made me want to return to college days. The speakers were all professional and interesting; My favorite speaker was Dr. Ed, the forensic dentist. The fingerprinting expert, Jason, also told some interesting stories. I thought the final day visit to the Detention Center was sensitive and well done. Nathan, our group leader, was excellent and added local color with early morning tours of the city and he shared a lot of history of his 50 years of Las Vegas living. I've done a lot of Road Scholar trips ranging from easy to challenging activity levels and various subjects, so in comparison, I can say: Over all, this program was extremely well done with great monetary value.

Jerome from Jasper, GA Number of programs attended: 1

We couldn't have enjoyed this trip more. Nathan really was a great group leader. The hotel was centrally located for easy exploring in the evening. Lectures were great, food was great. Our first Road Scholar trip will not be our last.

Katherine from San Mateo, CA Number of programs attended: 1

The Forensics program was excellent: the speakers, subject matter, Nathan tour director, Greg bus driver, Harrah's hotel, good food, free time, well organized.

Barbara from Mount Juliet, TN Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 02/17/14 - 02/21/14
My husband and I enjoyed this program very much. Tour leader, Nathan, was great as well as all the speakers. The "Bodies" exhibit we went to see at the Pyramid was excellent. Food and Harrah's were top notch. I would have liked there to have been more hands-on to the program such as the picture above which we didn't do. Also, I would have liked the dog handler, who was a wonderful speaker, to have put his dog through some exercises for us. Overall, a very good program. This was our 6th venture with Elderhostel/Road Scholar. Barbara from Tennessee

Jeri from Mesa, AZ Number of programs attended: 1

This was a great experience. The presentations were so interesting and well done. There was good food, time to see Las Vegas and so much to learn. It was our first Road Scholar trip but it won't be our last.
