The scenery we passed on our daily bike rides was spectacular! I trained for the distance so was never exhausted, but it was a challenge. Listening to Kirk Mariner was like listening to an old friend. His knowledge of the local area was outstanding.

I so enjoyed getting to know the Eastern Shore of VA. Having driven through for many years, I now have a real feel for the people and places. The team leading our group was great; they took very good care of us! The schedule was very reasonable and a perfect first time bike trip for me. THANKS!

Biking the Eastern Shore of VA is an excellent value. Beautiful area rich in history. The bike rides were interesting & only moderately challenging if one is accustomed to riding a couple of days a week & covering 20 to 25 miles. The area's flat terrain makes for fairly easy riding. The staff is excellent & very accommodating. The cafeteria food is quite good. Give it a try. I will wager you will enjoy this as much as I & my fellow riders enjoyed the experience.

Wonderful trip around the eastern shore. Staff was wonderful and answered questions along the way, as well as being well informed of all of the stops along the way. Program description of day 3 ride is outdated and needs to be corrected. You now ride from Accomac to Wachapreaque (lunch) then to Onanock. This change took place a couple of years ago but for some reason the program hasn't been updated. As such, a few of us on this Septembers trip (2014) didn't get to see the train museum in Parksley. Lots of stopping along the way to make sure everybody was with the group, so the length of the rides weren't really an issue. I can highly recommend this trip but do recommend either a hybrid or comfort bike for the trip.

The program leadership is terrific. The rides were comfortable. The food - especially in the 2 restaurant meals was absolutely first class. Do this program!

Our biking program on Chincoteague was wonderful -- riding along quiet country roads, through fields, along the water and through pine groves. Everything was arranged to keep up a good pace and also have good rest stops. Our seafood meals at local restaurants were terrific. And the entire staff at the Field Station was amazing -- constantly helpful, good natured and charming young people.

This was our first Road Scholar trip. Everything was clearly outlined and well organized. The rides were exactly as described. The information presented was interesting. The entertainment excellent. Even the weather didn't dampen our spirits.

Charles from Bedford, MA Number of programs attended: 27

This trip was exactly as we had hoped. It did rain one day but most of us didn't mind and kept riding and some resorted to riding the sag wagon. There was little free time as barely enough time to shower after riding before the next meal. Programs were great.
