This was my best Road Scholar trip to date. I loved St. Augustine. The accomodations were great, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel really appreciated. Our leader, Jill, was just amazing.

This was one of two RS programs I attended lasst month iin FL! The idea was to go somewhere warmer - that didn't work out, but the programs were huge successes with me! This program is very well organized and managed from beginning to end. Our leader, Sarah Brody, and her very musically talented husband brought their love of St. Augustine to share with us. We had two reinactors -one representing Henry Flagler who was so charming and personable that he almost made me like the old scoundral - and one representing Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings who reawakened my love of "native" Floridian literature. The motel was delightfully located right on the beach, and the food was very well planned and executed. I would highly recommend this program as one which captures the heart and soul of a city!

St. Augustine—the city and the program—was a delight. The coordinator, instructors, and presenters obviously enjoyed sharing their experiences and information about the area and its history. It was also a pleasure to meet and share the five days of the program with so many fellow "scholars."

The program was very worthwhile and a good value. If the weather had been warmer we would have wished for more free time since the site is on the beach and the swimming pool is outdoors.

This was our first RS program. I felt as though I could actually envision the evolution of the city from its inception. Flagler's St. Aug came alive. The former hotel is regal, as it was at the turn of the past century. As a native North Carolinian, I was able to bring the Flagler-Kenan connection into today's context with Kenan's connection to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The school of business there is named The Kenan-Flagler School of Business. The football stadium is Kenan Stadium. As a graduate of a rival school, I'm reluctant to mention this, but it is still very contextual. This is a very good program.

This was an indepth look at the History of St Augustine and through actors, lecture, guided tours, music, and charm we were thoroughly turned into walking promoters of the virtues of your town. Most appreciated were the impersonators, the lively tours and for me the short boat trip which was not so much a tour as a time to absorb it all. There were lots of other pluses like the food and the ambience of the group as well as the superb organization that kept it all moving.

What a wonderful time we had on our first Road Scholar program. The expertise of the speakers kept us thoroughly engaged, followed by trips into St Augustine, complementing the lecture topics. What pulled it all together was the great program leader we had. Jackie so engaged us with her intelligence, her wonderful sense of humor and her sense of fun. Thank you Jackie! Now we can't wait until our next one!

This was a great program - excellent presenters and lots of history to absorb in the city. There just wasn't enough time to see it all. The hotel was comfortable and right on the beach. The program included a relaxing boat ride in the bay on the last day. The weather was great so no complaints!

Wow! What a pleasant surprise this adventure was for me. I thought it would be respite from a NY winter (not necessary this year, as it turned out) with some interesting sights thrown in. The day trips were excellent. The coordinators and presenters were efficient, well prepared, and truly passionate about St. Augustine. I was really impressed by the quality and variety of the presentations. Additionally, the participants with different areas of interest were all pleased with the scope of the program. We also were an especially congenial group. Try it, you'll like it.

My husband and I really enjoyed our trip to St. Augustine with the Road Scholars. The instructors made the area come to life in a way that just taking a vacation to the area couldn't. You can tell that the instructors have a passion for St. Augustine and they passed that on to us from the history of the oldest city to photograpy and music. We had plenty of time to roam the Castillo de San Marcos and enjoyed the tour of Flagler College conducted by one of the seniors there. We found David Nolan's lectures on the black historical involvement in St. Augustine most interesting. And the scenic cruise on the last full day was a peaceful way to end an enjoyable week.
Nancy Frohardt, the Program Coordinator, made sure everything went smoothly, our fellow 'road scholars' were all interesting people with whom to get acquainted, and the staff at the Holiday Isle Oceanfront Resort was very accommodating.

My husband and I enjoyed our week learning about St Augustine. We liked staying at the hotel at St Augustine Beach where we could walk on the beach during breaks. The food was very good and presented beautifully. We learned so much from the instructors, and we thought they were well prepared in their presentations. I, especially, enjoyed the actors/actresses who made the history of St Augustine come alive!
Field trips into the city were well planned, and we appreciated the transportation on the trolley trains during our free time.
Our fellow participants were interesting and enjoyable, so that made for a fun week. Nancy, our leader, was well organized and kept us on schedule during this fun week.

What a wonderful week Laura and I had in St. Augustine. Everything that we hoped for came true. The leaders of the program were outstanding. Guest speakers were above average. The programs were above our expetations. We would recommend the program to anyone that would like to learn. The price we paid was very economical. Our stay was one of our best.

The St. Augustine program exceeded my expectations in all areas of presentations. The housing was excellent and close to the beach. The instructors were all very well informed and made their presentations fun and so educational. St. Augustine, itself, was a fascinating city with much history and architecture that appealed to all in our group. We loved everything about the Roads Scholar trip!
