EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Date attended: 10/14/12 - 10/19/12
What a great week to be in Charlottesville and be able to visit the homes of all these outstanding leaders of our country. William and Mary College run a super program! The course content was excellent, the speakers knowledgleable and the accommodations lovely. It was a treat to enjoy a meal at Michie Tavern. Ward, our bus driver was very helpful about using public transportation on our free time. Eileen, our coordinator was on top of every situation. Make plans to attend this wonderful program.

Jeana from Aptos, CA Number of programs attended: 3
Date attended: 10/14/12 - 10/19/12
I fulfilled a Bucket List wish by attending this Road Scholar trip to Virginia, Home of Presidents. I learned so much about our Founding Fathers (and Mothers), their way of life and saw first-hand the challenges they faced during the Revolutionary War and beyond. Highly recommended! Jeana de la Torre, Monterey Bay

C. Stewart Stafford from Fayetteville, NC Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/16/11 - 10/21/11
This was the first time for this program and I thought it was very good. Guide was good and an exceptional bus driver who was most accommodating to all participants. Tour of Mt. Vernon was extremely rushed but no fault of Road Scholar. Thanks for a great week!

Rebecca from Tulsa, OK Number of programs attended: 7
Date attended: 10/16/11 - 10/21/11
I'm having trouble coming up with words to write
on the wonderful itinerary of this program!
It was so interesting and educational to see the
Presidential homes of so many of our forefathers.
I would say the program brought our history to
life.

The hotel, English Inn in Charlottesville, was
adequate. For the 7 programs we've attended, it
would rank in the bottom 2 of the hotels where
we stayed.
Five of the programs we attended had marvelous
accommodations.

The meals would rank last of the 7 programs.
This was because of the catering company; not the
hotel or Road Scholar. I'll say "not good at all"
and leave it at that.

The bottom line is that the program would get
an A plus. The accommodations and meals could be
improved.
