This trip if for history buffs especially Presidential history. The trip is a delightful journey into the lives of three of our Founding Fathers and offers a better understanding of the lives they led once you see their homes and learn more about their lifestyles.

My husband and I decided to try the RS trip to Monticello, Montpelier and Ashlawn. We found the experience to be outstanding with amazing speakers, good fellowship, comfortable accomodations, good food. I would highly recommend the program.

This program was GREAT. I did the 3 day program, and that was just right for me. I was busy all the time, so if you are looking for more free time, consider the 5 day program. But, I like an intense program, and this met my needs. Each location was very interesting and the presenters were the best. I guarantee that you will come back with so much respect for 3 of our Founding Fathers and will ponder much about their commitments to our country.

Three Presidents, three estates/homesteads, UVA campus, four days, WHEW!!! Excellent program and absolutely packed with information and tours. Eileen Wells is an excellent leader/resource/guide/friend and does everything she can to make the days go smoothly. The instructors, Elizabeth Taylor, Jim Wootton, Su Tarr, and "James Madison" were very interesting and very knowledgeable. We missed meeting "James Monroe" the last day, but I'm sure he was equally as captivating. Our hotel was also where classes and most meals were held....very convenient to walk down the hall each day. We wish we had planned more free time on our own before or after the program, but were not able to do so. Charlotesville has many things to see and do.

Allen from Plano, TX Number of programs attended: 2

Beautiful fall weather topped the educational experiences set in the Colonial Virginia period. The speakers, specialized Guides at the Presidentusl estates and other events were superior in every way. The three night, four day program was jam packed, we enjoyed the outstanding folks that we met and were our fellow participants. Well worth the cost of the program. Susie Allen. Troy, Mi

This program is excellent. I love history, and the quality of the instructors and the wonderful fieldtrips all provided an amazing wealth of knowledge about our early 3 Presidents-Jefferson, Madison and Monroe.Visiting their homes and also the University of VA was just great.

John from Port Angeles, WA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 03/30/14 - 04/02/14
The "Three Friends" course, sited in the beautiful Springtime countryside of Charlottesville, Virginia, gave me a brief but fulfilling immersion into the lives and times of three men deeply involved in the formation of our nation. The instructors were illuminating and entertaining and the field trips were informative and well-conducted. Hats off to Road Scholar for this experience, my first but certainly not last.

Allan from Elm Grove, WI Number of programs attended: 6

Marybeth from Macungie, PA Number of programs attended: 1

This was a fantastic program. I learned so much about these three presidents. The lecturers were FANTASTIC and the transport and tour guides at the stately homes were wonderful. The English Inn was wonderful. The length of the program was just right for me. I would recommend this wholeheartedly.

....just when you thought you knew so much, you realize how much you have yet to learn about our forefathers.

Carol from Chagrin Falls, OH Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/27/13 - 10/30/13
My husband and I found this walk, back into the times of Jefferson, Madison and Monroe, one of the most enjoyable vacations we have had in years. We thought we knew a lot about these men, but this experience gave us a new and expanded view of an important time in our history.

Bill from Watertown, MA Number of programs attended: 40
Date attended: 10/27/13 - 10/30/13
This was our 40th Road Scholar program and though brief it was certainly stimulating. We gained a new appreciation for James Monroe's presidency and service having heard so much about Jefferson. Too bad even in a shortened program no meal at Michie Tavern instead of one of those box lunches!

Roger from Chagrin Falls, OH Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/27/13 - 10/30/13
Even after graduate study, on this period of time, I find that I learned something new about three great Americans. My perspective has changed. There was something special about the approach to the topic and the materials presented. There is nothing like being there and feeling the impact of our history.

Jean from Hendersonville, NC Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/20/13 - 10/23/13
It was a well run program which had a lot of thought and planning. It was appreciated by all of us. It was fun.

Joe from Hendersonville, NC Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 10/20/13 - 10/23/13
The educational part including lectures and tours was excellent. The hotel was just OK, a little old and had a bit of an insect problem (not bed bugs fortunately but some kind of critters). The food at dinner was just OK but lunches and breakfasts were good. We thought everything else was handled well and would certainly go on another tour with them. The impersonator (Dennis Bigelow) who did James Monroe was really superb and the fiddler Su Tarr was also very good. We liked all the lecturers. Jim Wooton and Beth Taylor were both very knowledgeable, friendly and we learned a lot. Marilyn kept everyone on schedule and was friendly. All in all I think we got good value for our money.
