Program #12347RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I love the concept of the Signature City programs. It is an excellent way to see the "best" of a city. The group leader, Jimmy, was excellent and I enjoyed meeting all of the other participants. Can't wait for our next program!

Margaret from TX Have attended 8 programs We thoroughly enjoyed the trip--good activities, excellent hotel and location for the tour and we enjoyed the company of friendly people. One of the nicest things about the tour was the friendliness of the people of Memphis--everyone seemed gracious and welcoming.

This was a great trip.. If you love good food {BBQ} and good music this is the place to go.You will visit the great places where rock and roll and the blues started.Jimmy our leader was well informed about the area and was a easy going guide. Our hotel location was excellent with many of the places we visited and dined out within walking distance.

James from Forest, VA Number of programs attended: 27

The accommodations were very good and very convenient to the Beale Street area. The program hit the "must see" attractions such as Sun Studio, STAX and Graceland as well as exposed you to Beale Street history, food and music.

Wayne from Lancaster, PA Number of programs attended: 1

As Road Scholar newbies, we really enjoyed our time in Memphis and would recommend the program to our friends. Our group was especially congenial, and we got to know a little about nearly everyone in the group. Although we haven't given much thought to our next adventure, we feel certain we'll be back.

Claudia from O Fallon, MO Number of programs attended: 1

This was a fascinating, well-rounded program. There was something for everyone. Had I planned a trip to Memphis myself, I could have not come close to what Road Scholar was able to plan. Hats off to them!

William from Torrance, CA Number of programs attended: 3

Memphis is a joyful musical experience and reminds us of the many musicians who have contributed to our culture. We may or may not like their music but we were able to hear
younger musicians who are building on the traditions of Memphis.

Graceland is one of America's most-visited sites. My big disappointment on the tour was that we did not have enough time on the schedule to see Graceland and all it offers. Whether you liked Elvis or not, Graceland presents and markets an American icon and should be experienced.

The Civil Rights Museum was especially meaningful since most members of Road Scholar lived through the civil rights movement. Our visit promoted some good discussions.

The people of Memphis were friendly and helpful. A good city!
