EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This was an outstanding program for food enthusiasts. We had many special opportunities and experiences that I could not have arranged on my own, including a cheese & wine pairing, cooking classes and demonstrations, and a number of exceptional meals in special places. The RS staff members we encountered were diverse experts skilled at sharing their knowledge about subjects of great interest to us. Our group was composed of enthusiastic foodies, and we shared a lot of fun experiences and a lot of great food.

The Julia Child Voyage was a wonderful experience. I loved the combination of Boston-Queen Mary 2-Paris, the focus on food, the cooking classes and demonstrations, guided tours, lectures, special dinners. Our program leader Brigitte Young did an outstanding job. It was a great trip!

Marguerita from Jackson Hts, NY Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 05/14/11 - 05/30/11
I expected the food to be good because this was a cuisine themed program but it went well beyond what I expected. The French bread demonstration and hands-on cooking at the Cambridge Culinary School was fun and delicious, seeing Julia’s former home was thrilling.
On board the Queen Mary 2, there were more cooking demonstrations, a wine and cheese tasting, an extensive tour of the Britannia galley (main kitchen aboard) and our very own Julia themed dinner in the Chef’s Galley.
The lecturers Barbara Haber and Princess Marie-Blanche de Broglie were knowledgeable and delightful. Barbara shared with us the Julia she knew and worked with and the culinary world Julia inhabited. Cooking with Marie-Blanche was a great experience for a novice like me in no time I was whipping up egg whites by hand.
The Julia Child inspired lunch at La Couronne in Rouen was wonderful the oysters and sole were fresh and expertly prepared.
Our time in Paris was well scheduled with enough free time to explore the city and experience some famous restaurants on our own as well as with the group.
This program was one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.
