Having been to Antarctica and Alaska in the past, I was prepared to compare and contrast the previous trips with Churchill. I have to say this was not possible. This was truly a very special trip, from arriving at the institute where the personnel ( all, including the volunteers) were supportive, knowledgable, and kind. Riding the Tundra Buggies and seeing so...... many Polar Bears on each trip, as well as other wildlife was exciting. The dog slide ride was another milestone in actual snowy, windy conditions.I would rate this trip a 10/10

Exceptionally well-run program to see polar bears and other wildlife. Lectures were very informative. Personnel were very personable. Be prepared for bunk beds; my wife and I were assured we would be in same room but such was not the case. Wife became bruised and hurt climbing on and off top bunk. Advise all elderly "road scholars", 70 plus, to get bottom bunks.

This was my first program but it will not be my last. Took some fantastic photos of the polar bears and now I can say "Ididamile". Everyone was friendly and I learned so much from them. Whoever picked my roommate did a great job. This is a "must' on you bucket list.

I enjoyed my two days in Winnipeg, but what I will remember most about this wonderful trip was when the first polar bear came up to our buggy! We saw so many wonderful bears! My second favorite memory is dog sledding through the boreal forest behind those enthusiastic dogs. I enjoyed each and every one of the lectures and learned so much. The tour was a delight from start to finish.

The website is easy to use. I appreciated being able to see an outline of the programs, and then be able to also see programs in detail.

The Lords of the North program is a must for everyone! Our time in Winnipeg was well spent and the time in Churchill was excellent! We saw polar bears, arctic fox, arctic hare, ptarmigan and snowy owls. The Tundra Buggies take you to it all! We even saw a bear standing against another buggy looking thru a window. Our visit to a dog musher was great! We learned a lot and rode in the sleds. Touring Churchill rounded out the program with visits to museums and a chance to enjoy some free time. Michael Goodyear, Executive Dir., and his staff and researchers, of the Churchill Northern Studies Center, are knowledgeable, friendly and more than willing to answer all of our questions. I cannot say enough good things about this program - you have to see it for yourself!!!!

My recent trip to Churchill was the dream of a lifetime. I first heard about the polar bears in Churchill in the 1980s and have hoped to be able to go there. After over 30 years of longing to go there, I finally was able to experience the tundra, see the polar bears up close, but in safety, and observe many other artic animals. The Tundra Buggies were absolutely amazing as were the bears themselves. I cannot recommend this trip enough!
