A wonderful trip!! The Canadian Rockies are beautiful, and an added bonus, cool weather hiking. (But, carry rain gear, weather can change)... Excellent guides..and a choice of hiking difficulty each day. I LOVED this trip!

Super tour leaders! They let us choose from three hiking options each day--mellow, moderate, and motivated. Weather in the Canadian Rockies is unpredictable--be ready for snow or warm weather with plenty of layers.

The scenery, the wonderful guides, the friendly participants, the whole experience!!!! This has been my favorite Road Scholar trip:)

This was our first road scholar program and we are already looking at others. It was very well organized with wonderful educational lectures everyday on the bus as we were driving to our trailhead. We had 4 outstanding guides highly knowledgeable about a variety of topics. All hikes were outstanding and we liked having a choice to push ourselves on a motivated hike or take it easy and spend more time stopping to take pictures and look at the plants on a moderate or mellow hike because the scenery is breath taking. The hikes progressed from easy to more difficult over the course of the week so everyone had time to adjust to the altitude. This program does require you to be in good physical condition however.

The hiking trip in the Canadian Rockies was truly a fantastic experience. It was wonderful that our group was extra congenial and interactive. The organization for this trip was superb. The guides were extremely knowledgeable as well as articulate. I liked the fact that the instruction was provided as we traveled; this made more time for being outside on the trail. It was nice to have daily options for the hiking level.

This was a fantastic hiking trip thanks to the outstanding guides. They were organized, knowledgeable, and very patient with all the varied levels of hikers. Of course the scenery was pretty awesome too.

A great hiking experience! The Canadian Rockies are spectacular. Even if the weather doesn't cooperate (and it is very changeable!), the hiking is fun, challenging and always different. Our guides were the best! One of the best Road Scholar trips yet.

A well-organized program which accommodates all participants who then bask in the Canadian Rockies' splendor.

Carol from Reno, NV Number of programs attended: 14
Date attended: 08/23/15 - 08/29/15
As a veteran of 13 Road Scholar programs (mostly hiking), it is my opinion that this is the best organized hiking program I have attended. Each day we were offered choices for hikes, so we could take it easy or challenge ourselves. Each day was a little different, to keep it interesting. The hikes were magnificent, with four excellent guides leading four different groups each day. The lectures on the bus were well prepared and well delivered on a variety of topics related to the area. Highly recommended.

This was our first Road Scholar program. All our expectations were met in terms of customer service and alignment of activity level, lodging, meals, transportation, and education. All these components aligned with the advertised program. We really enjoyed our hiking companions and will certainly be looking to Road Scholar for our next active vacation.

This hiking adventure was a wonderful way to explore the beauty of the Canadian Rockies with fantastic guides. Each day's hike was completely different from the previous day in terms of scenery and terrain. We saw beautiful glacier lakes in many colors of blue/green, waterfalls, streams, glaciers, forests, meadows, and wildflowers -- and we were always surrounded by the countless peaks of the Canadian Rockies.

What a week! I wasn't sure I could hike for 5 straight days but this group makes it very do-able. You have the option each day as to how far and challenging you want your hike for that day and each one holds it's own beauty. Did not have a moment of disappointment. Would highly recommend this hike to anyone who enjoys hiking and the mountains. LH Pine Grove, CA

Deborah from Morristown, NJ Number of programs attended: 0

I found this program to be physically challenging, visually inspiring and mentally exhilarating! I enjoyed the commentaries provided by our regional guides, historical, scientific and folk-lore in nature. The participants were diverse in age and background and were warm and engaging. It was very much like adult camp. Our good-byes were sentimental and heart-felt. Great program!

Rosemary from Glendale, AZ Number of programs attended: 0

I would recommend this trip for anyone who enjoys hiking and who appreciates beautiful scenery as well as plants and animals. The hikes were diverse and the guides provided different options relative to each person's interests and physical skill level. In addition, the guides were well trained and did their best to meet the various needs within the group. Be sure to come prepared for various types of weather and bring all gear recommended for the hikes.

This was my first Road Scholar trip and what a wonderful indoctrination! Everything was well planned and the guides and program director were not only very accommodating, but very informative as well. The views, of course, were breathtaking, making it an all-around wonderful experience.

This is one of the best organized hiking trips I have ever been on. Everyone was made to feel special and the different levels of hikes accommodated everyone. Even though I have been hiking for years, I learned so much on this trip. And it did not hurt that the weather cooperated. Sara from Tucson, AZ
