The Skiing at Craftsbury Outdoor Center is great. There is a large network of beautifully groomed trails. You get excellent ski instruction/tour lead every day and Hi quality equipment rental is available at a very reasonable price. You have the choice to ski at several different levels from beginner to experienced and pretty fast. You may free ski at any time also.

Excellent program, facilities, ethos, and people! Can't say enough good things about this place and program. Outside Magazine Online site just published a review of the best Nordic Centers in the USA and included Craftsbury Outdoor Center which they described as "a Norman Rockwell Painting in Spandex." (That describes the staff and visitors well,,,,,but no spandex for me!) Beautiful weather and best XC morning run Ever on Thursday! Yoga sessions helped work out the kinks after. http://www.outsideonline.com/adventure-travel/escapes/go-list/The-Best-Nordic-Skiing-in-America-Cross-Country-Ski-Resorts-US.html

The weather was spectacular this week! In addition to the perfectly groomed trails, excellent instruction, reasonably priced rentals, very comfortable bed and locally sourced & creative healthy food, there were two new evening programs - a sing-along with local musicians, and a biathlon presentation and hands-on opportunity with the new biathlon coach, a truly unique experience. I'll definitely be back next year!

I have gone for years and really love everything about it... Wonderful skiing conditions and instruction. The music and dance program is so much fun and interactive. The food and lodging meet everyone's needs. And the Rd. Scholar coordinator does an excellent job making everyone feel comfortable. I will return again next year!

If you like skiing, people, music, and dancing this is the trip for you. The weather could not have been better, the food was great, my fellow travelers awe inspiring, and the musicians were superb. What more could one ask for?

Susan from Pennington, NJ Number of programs attended: 1

What a wonderful week. The program was well organized, allowing more energetic folks the opportunity to ski and do yoga twice a day and for others, a way to participate and do other things if they did not want to participate in the morning or afternoon. Food was absolutely creative and delicious. Program guides were knowledgeable and ready to help. The participants were a fun and educated group of people.

What a beautiful setting! Delicious food, nice accommodations, knowledgeable instructors and a very well organized program (with yoga as a bonus) made for a fabulous cross country ski adventure. Try it, even if you've never been on skis...you will be enlightened!

Nancy from Arlington, VA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 01/26/14 - 01/31/14
Participants divided themselves into four different ski levels depending on experience, skills, and endurance. Each group received excellent morning instruction and encouragement from Craftsbury ski instructors who then accompanied them on ski tours in the afternoon. The trails were excellently groomed and diverse. The Outdoor Center also offers a wide variety of rental equipment at an excellent price for Road Scholar participants which they allow you to try and switch out, if desired. The story and film part of the program was also very enjoyable and was a nice counterpoint to the physical activity. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent and plentiful.

The Cross Country Skiing program at Craftsbury Outdoor Center is a great Cross Country Skiing Trip. The trail system is great and very well maintained. The instruction is very good, helpful and not overbearing. You can try many different models of skiis for a modest fee. The accommodations are not fancy but very clean and comfortable and the food is good and plentiful.
