Road Scholar
Program #12378RJ
4 Days | 3 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Mary Ann from Baltimore, MD Number of programs attended: 33
Date attended: 09/22/14 - 09/25/14
This was a short program, but well worth the time and cost.

David from Carlisle, PA Number of programs attended: 9
Date attended: 10/27/13 - 10/30/13
Best of intentions did not produce a great program. The actor who portrayed three historic personages was not bad but was irrelevant to the theme. Dr. Wray was unfortunately carried away by prospects of the future museum. The final info packet was awful, the start time wrong (important for those of us who drove 4 1/2 hours to get there), and just the bare minimum of program info. Coordinator was fine, hotel old but clean. Program needs to be reworked with emphasis on WWII theme.

Naomi from Chevy Chase, MD Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 10/27/13 - 10/30/13
I would rate this program "good," but not "great." Some of it was interesting (Lewes, Women Spies, life-saving station), but there was too much emphasis on the upcoming bunker museum (I felt the presenter was actually fund-raising), one presenter didn't show, the coordinator was less than inspiring, and the meals at the hotel were awful. This was my 5th RoadScholar program.

Laurie from Dover, DE Number of programs attended: 19
Date attended: 05/19/13 - 05/22/13
This was our 19th Road Scholar Program. We would not recommend this program to anyone. It was not up to the standards of most programs. The biggest problem was the attitude of the coordinator.

John from Southampton, NJ Number of programs attended: 0
Date attended: 05/19/13 - 05/22/13
This was our first RS trip. Course was poorly executed, most notably that 1 presenter was a no-show. Other sessions were abbreviated/presenter substitution to accommodate personal business of instructor. Hotel was OK but showed wear and tear. Meals at diner next door were mediocre. We were advised by several RS veterans that this course is not indicative of RS programs- others better executed. Del Tech, hosting organization, could have done a better job.

Stanley from Gordonville, PA Number of programs attended: 33
Date attended: 05/19/13 - 05/22/13
My advice, after going to 35 Elderhostel/Road Scholar Programs, is for newcomers to these programs to avoid this one. Material content is interesting, but lack of leadership was embarrassing.
