This was an amazing program because of a wonderful guide and traveling companions who were unusually friendly and compatible. We saw beautiful country and shared new experiences that we will never forget. We made many new friends that we will share future experiences with.

I totally agree with Carol and Elliot. This was a great adventure. I enjoyed the views along the Elbe River of Germany and the Czech Republic. I was especially thankful for our great guides and the entire Road Scholar group in attendance. The biking was fabulous with mostly ideal weather. The lectures were very informative and provided an insight into that part of the world -- both the past and today. The accommodations and meals were very nice. Looking forward to taking another bicycling trip.

Although I am physically active, I am not an avid rider, and never ride more than 25 miles a day. Therefore, I did have doubts regarding distance and pace. All went well and never experienced any difficulty. Not miss out on this trip - beautiful and tranquil.

This was a delightful program that fulfilled our longstanding intent to visit Prague, and we were not disappointed when we did reach our destination. Along the way we rode through the former East Germany which proved to be a fascinating trip as it illuminated the years under Communist rule. Visiting Dresden took us back to WWII in a very visceral way. Our visit to Terezín (Theresienstadt) was a stark reminder of the value of the freedoms we enjoy. The bicycling was perfectly parsed into 30-40 mile days through many scenic vistas along the Elbe. We wished our overnight stay in Bad Schandau could have been longer. We were blessed with a wonderfully compatible and cohesive group of riders, and arguably the best Group Leader that ever led a Road Scholar program. We would rank this among our very best Road Scholar experiences.

Wife and I did this trip Sept-Oct 2012 and enjoyed it tremendously. Had a great group of people with us and the guide was fabulous. We had not been to Berlin before so we arrived a week before the group and enjoyed every minute of it. The bike two trip along the Elbe was very educational from a cultural and historic point of view. We got a good idea of what life was like during the GDR period. Hotels along the route were excellent. We also extended our stay in Prague--a must!
