Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The evaluation process should be able to be SAVED and returned to after starting. Sometimes we get interrupted, and cannot finish. I did that and I lost everything I'd first input.

36 THIRTY SIX!! on the bus plus two guides is TOO many. This was my first Road Scholar trip and I was surprised that it was advertised as Active. I think this is very misleading to a first timer. It was what I would call sedentary. Lots of sitting was what I expected but I thought there would be more activities mixed with the long bus ride. Guides were tremendous. Food and facilities more than adequate. Too much eating. The best recommendation is I would do it again.

The trip provided a thorough and comprehensive overview of Baja. Carlos and Isobel are very professional guides offering detailed insight regarding geology, flora, fauna, culture, economy and history. The guest lecturers were engaging and informative. Food and accommodation offered an opportunity to experience authentic Mexico. Accommodation ranged from outstanding to (in one case)disappointing. The whale outings were awesome-many females with calves. Wonderful, peaceful vistas. Remarkable missions. Interesting walks through natural areas and small towns. The lively, colorful folk dancing presentation after an exquisite evening meal on an outdoor patio was delightful. Participants must accept the fact that travel is by bus.

Tip to Toe Baja California provides a good introductions to many aspects of that area. Biology and geology are addressed as well as history and current economics and cultural influences. The trip provided activities that enhanced and explored things that make Baja California a unique location.

lynne from Spencertown I enjoyed this trip once we reached Catavina in a beautiful desert setting. Felt as though I was in a national park. Whale watching was a definite highlight as it was the most important reason for choosing this trip. Also enjoyed the boat outing on the sea of Cortez where we saw the blue-footed and brown booby. i liked all the hotels in Mexico except the Desert Inn in Loreto which should be dropped. Our guides Isabel and cArlos were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My only serious criticism of this trip is with the number of people on the trip-33 is way too many. Everything is slowed down because of that. This should be a small group trip, esp. since it is by bus, and squeezing 33 travelers plus two guides and another is just too many!

A+ - Isabel Sanchez and the organization of the trip B+ - Extracurricular activities--from wine tasting to snorkeling B - Food and hotels. Food was uniformly bland and there was too much of it; hotels were uneven in quality: Guerrero Negro and Loreto were "Cs" while Catavina, La Paz, and San Jose del Cabo were "As." And when there's 5-6 hours between meals, we needed a snack on the bus. B- - The talks. I loved the first, Norma Iglesias, but they went downhill from there. C - Exercise opportunities; amount of free time. D - The bus! I've been on other Mexican buses, and this was the worst--marginally comfortable seats, poor sound and picture on the TVs.

If you like diversity and adventure and don't mind some physical discomort, this is a program for you. It has a little of everything:interesting history, a different culture, a detailed learning experience about the flora and fauna of the desert region inclouding observing the breeding and nurturing the young blue whales and seeing numerous kinds of cacti as well as enjoying many kinds of new foods with wonderful guides.

I would recommend Explore Baja California Tip to Toe to anyone! I enjoyed the many activities, something new every day - hiking, snorkeling, whale watching, wine tasting, chocolate, new foods. We had a wonderful trip leader, safe and comfortable transportation and hotels, just a very enjoyable trip.

This trip was very well done. We had a variety of field trips and all were enjoyable. Isabell and Carlos did a wonderful job of explaining our day and keeping us comfortable. We had a good experience by seeing out of the way places and had a variety of foods to try. This was one of the better trips I have taken. I would highly recommend it.

This was one great experience from beginning to end. To see Mexico away from the tourist destinations, to vist small towns, to visit places where historical missions, to enjoy real Mexican food,to see the Grey Whales up close, and to enjoy Mexican culture. It was a real adventure.

Baja is a beautiful and amazingly interesting place. The people are wonderful! This tour has excellent leaders and we saw a lot of fantastic birds! The food was extremely delicious and the places we stayed were very nice. I enjoyed it all very much.
