This program will provide you with an outstanding experience walking amongst spectacular sights of Swiss Alps along trails with professional guides. The mix of visits to historic sites with various well-known Swiss towns and grand hiking will bring everyday inspiration.

If you want STUNNING scenery, and VERY active hikes, this is the trip for you! Staying in only two places really let us settle in, and enjoy the local experiences. Our program guide, Anna, was phenomenal!

This is my favorite program of the 15 Road Scolar/Elderhostel programs that I've taken. It is extremely well run. The hikes vary in difficulty and accommodations were made for those who found any to be too strenous. Food and accommodations far exceeded our expectations in the second week. The first week's food and accommodations were fine, but not exceptional. The scenery and hiking are spectacular. I highly recommend this program. One item to note: There are no coin operated laundry facilities at either hotel. There is a laundromat in Wengen, but you wouldn't want to use it. Plan to hand wash and reuse clothing.

Spectacular scenery, great hikes, great food. Sofia is a wonderful group leader, who worked extremely hard to make sure our group had a great time. This was without a doubt my favorite program out of the 15 I've participated in.

An outstanding itinerary, very well organized, to the best places to see famous parts of the Swiss Alps. A week is spent at each of 2 locations high up in the mountains accessible only by cable car or cog railway: very delightful. A great set of hikes, with flexibility to choose more or less difficult routes on most days.

This was a delightful trip with breathtaking views all around. Some of the hikes, particularly in the second week were far more challenging than expected and I was relieved when our guide presented alternatives. Our group came from all parts of the country and was congenial and enjoyable throughout the trip. Food at the first hotel was not up to standards , though. At the end of the day waiting in line for steam table food is not terribly inviting. Our hotel in Bettmeralp, however, was spectacular in every way. Rooms were lovely, the views were splendid, our hosts could not have been more gracious and the food way beyond what we experienced in Wengen. Dinner was what one would expect in a fine restaurant every night. Our guides throughout we're knowledgeable and helpful. It was a great trip overall.

Unbelievable scenery while hiking. You stay in two swiss style Hotels up in the Mts. close to where you will be hiking. When you open your balcony doors the Alps are right there. The food was delicious - we even had Raclette and Fondue. On hikes we stopped at a Vineyard and a Cheese Hut and were able to sample both. Half the group used hiking sticks which I found helpful.
