A friend and I did Program #19398, South Africa Wildlife Safari and the Garden Route, followed by Program #3645, Wild Africa: Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. We could not have been more pleased. It was the adventure of a lifetime.

This is a fast-paced and comprehensive exposure to a huge and diverse country. You won't be disappointed if you're a nature lover! The accommodations are varied, comfortable, and convenient for personal explorations of towns and cities. The food was as good as any we've encountered on Road Scholar trips, including good and healthful breakfasts at all locations. The Manyeleti/safari portion of the trip was perfect in every way. We had 10 people and, by necessity, traveled long distances on a comfortable mini-bus with an excellent driver. Johann R. is a wonderful, well-organized, personable group leader.

This tour provided a wealth of information about South Africa along with the game park adventure that let us experience wild animals at close range in their habitat.

My first experience with Road's Scholar was very satisfying and rewarding. My wife and I consider our trip to South Africa one of our best trips ever.Any one can find fault and criticize any travel, but I think Road Scholar is a very honest and conscientious organization.

This is like three trips in one... the Garden Route, Cape Town and the safari. Each is fascinating in and by itself. Together, this trip is an investment that is delightful and rewarding.

This is a wonderful trip for people who want a rounded exposure to all aspects of South Africa- political, cultural, social as well as nature. I am still thinking about the great animals, scenery and people. I learned so very much in an informal, painless way, and my understanding of South Africa's people and cultures was wonderfully expanded. The guides (Andre and Mervyn for the main trip, with guide Layton and tracker Phillippe joining Andre in Manyeleti Park) really made the trip with their humor and their honest reflections on the South African experience. I can't say enough about the depth of knowledge the guides have, and their professionalism. I never expected to travel to Africa again, and now I can't wait to return. The accommodations were plush, the food was excellent, transport was smooth. Well worth the expense.
