Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This experience only left us wanting more. The warmth of the people and the beauty of the country is unsurpassed. I would recommend this program without hesitation.

A wonderful program. We had many opportunities to interact with New Zealanders, on the trail and in the dining room. It's a pity that this program is being discontinued.

Great program! We got to see a lot of New Zealand's interesting attractions. Probably more than on any of the other programs because of it's many stops along the way. Great fun!

It's a shame this itinerary has been discontinued -- it was a wonderful experience.

My recommendation is to go early and stay after. I spent my day 1 at the fabulous TePapa Museum in Wellington, then day 2 took the ferry to Picton and a bus to Nelson, which has great craft galleries, like the Sutter with fine handmade art jewelry, ceramics, and textiles. Save some money for beautiful woolens at the Simpsons sheep ranch. For the on your own lunch in Arrowtown, Stabes has great fish and chips plus free wifi. For free time in Queenstown, see the kiwi and birdlife sanctuary. It is expensive, but you will see a real live kiwi or two plus an amazing lizard, still on earth from dinosaur days. After the group tour ended, some of us spent a day on Waiheke Island, buying both r/t ferry and the island on/off tour -- a fun day. Although this is a walking tour, some days are spent mainly on a coach -- I wish I had gone for early a.m. walks on those days to keep limber. This is a beautiful country with welcoming people. Enjoy!
