We had a very enjoyable and informative experience. People interested in learning more about wine and the industry in general would find this program most worthwhile.

The "Wine Country as it Used to Be" is a descriptive title for this great program. We were warmly welcomed to Lake County by a friendly, talented, intelligent, and accomplished group of people who had been very successful in life and chose to put their considerable financial resources and talents to returning the area to its former beauty and prosperity. The Tallman Hotel is a combination of old-fashioned 19th century charm and every modern amenity. Our suites were all unique, beautiful, and comfortable. The dining was wonderful, with a great kitchen staff headed by a talented purloined chef from "down below." I cannot decide which was the best- enjoying a good time with the locals in the gold rush days saloon, dining on the spacious veranda, in the shady courtyard with its landscaping and fountains suggestive of Provence, in the elegant 19th century dining room, or on a picnic at some beautiful winery in the country.(Enjoying their own great wine,of course) We were welcomed at each winery as if we were VIP honored guests and the enthusiasm of everyone for Lake County Wines was evident. The winemaker, the tasting, and the history teachers were all passionate about their work and Lake County. All I can say is "Bravo" for accommodations, food, and a learning experience that would have cost you at least three times as much in NAPA
