7 Days | 6 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Lonn Taylor

Lonn Taylor is a historian and writer who retired to Fort Davis, Texas, with his wife, Dedie, after 20 years as a historian at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C. Lonn has authored several books and writes a weekly column about Texas called "The Rambling Boy," for the Marfa Big Bend Sentinel.

Liz Rogers

Liz Rogers grew up on a sheep and goat ranch in Uvalde County. After graduating from Texas A & M and South Texas College of Law, she moved to El Paso, where she lived over 20 years. In 2001, she relocated to Alpine, where she continued her work with the Federal Public Defender's office, from which she recently retired. She just completed a trip around the world by train and freighter in 73 days. Liz is a Master Naturalist as well as a Quail Master. She serves on the board of trustees of the Texas Nature Conservancy, and is a member of the Philosophical Society of Texas.

Bruce Martin

Bruce Martin is a native Texan who has lived in San Antonio for more than 30 years. A Texas Master Naturalist, he leads informative and entertaining explorations throughout San Antonio’s downtown, historic districts, cemeteries, missions, and natural areas, as well as the nearby Texas Hill Country. A keen observer of the built environment, Bruce shares his appreciation for San Antonio’s architectural details and public artwork, as well as some scandalous stories that are very much a part of local history. Bruce drives a white pickup and tries not to take himself too seriously — he and his wife Barbara live in a 1937 white stucco house near the San Antonio River.
