Rick Kistner

Rick Kistner had two careers that could not have been more different. He spent 30 years in law enforcement as a police chief in cities in Ohio, Kansas, Connecticut and Florida. At the same time, his performing arts career landed him roles in over 100 stage productions, as well as in films, TV commercials and voice work. Rick has a master's degree in public administration from the University of Dayton, and studied acting under Richard Digby Day at the Eugene Oneill Theatre Center in Connecticut.

Hong Gu

Instructor of Chinese language at Eckerd College, Hong Gu was born and raised in Shanghai, China. Professor Gu has taught Chinese language, literature, history and English composition at Hamilton College, Northwestern University and Purdue University. Hong received his bachelor’s in English language and literature from East China Normal University, Shanghai, and his master’s in English language and literature from Southeast Missouri University and has done doctoral work at Purdue University.

Mary Falwell

Born in New York City, Mary Falwell grew up in a suburb of Boston as the oldest of 11 children. In 2008, she retired from her position as vice president of marketing personal lines for Travelers Insurance, culminating her 30-year career in the insurance industry. Mary divides her year by living in Chatham, Mass. and St. Petersburg, Fla., where she enjoys sharing her love for the region with Road Scholar participants.
