EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.

Sharon Ohrenstein

Sharon Ohrenstein has worn various hats in the performing arts, including that of singer, actress, writer/lyricist, director, and one-half of the concert duo “The Ohs.” She portrayed Marie Dindon in “La Cage Aux Folles” and has starred in productions such as “The Sound of Music” and “La Bohème.” Sharon has also directed “Romeo and Juliet,” “The Taming of the Shrew” and “The Glass Menagerie.” Sharon has appeared on television and screen and is working on a screenplay.

June Taylor

June Elisabeth Taylor hails from Long Island, New York and received an associate degree in theatre. She moved to Florida, after attending technical school for tailoring. She created costumes for Asolo Theatre, and still designs costumes for the main stage and FSU Conservatory. She was the resident designer for the Riverfront Theatre in Bradenton, has designed for the Sarasota Opera, and was the assistant designer of Clown College, which sponsors Ringling Brothers Circus.

Group Leaders make sure your program runs smoothly and are attuned to the needs of Road Scholar participants. These Group Leaders are participating on at least one day of one date of this program.

Sharon Rae Giles

Sharon Rae earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University and went on to teach kindergarten through fourth grade for 25 years. Sharon Rae are her husband moved to Sarasota in 1994 where she now volunteers at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and Sarasota High School. She is also active in the Palm Aire Garden Club and the Marie Selby Gardens Associates.
