Nancy Foltz

Nancy Sue Foltz is an artist and certified art teacher who has been directing the crafts program at Great Camp Sagamore for almost a decade. A former high school teacher, she focuses on offering a wide variety of age-appropriate crafts. From pots to plant pressing, from pine cone art to painting tee shirts, from papier mache to paper hats and so many things in between, her ideas are always fresh. Grandkids will end up with some great, outdoorsy craft projects to bring home. Among her other duties at Sagamore, Nancy Sue is also the group leader for many Road Scholar programs.

Mr. John Kirk

John Kirk is known for his lyric voice, good sense of humor and versatile instrumental skills. On fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, keyboard and tin whistle, John demonstrates a vast knowledge of musical traditions. John has recorded music with his wife Trish, as well as with the Susquehanna Stringband, the Dawnland Singers and the Vanaver Caravan. His song, “Long Roads,” was recorded by the Dixie Chicks, and he can be heard on various projects with Jay Ungar, Molly Mason and other musicians.

Ms. Trish Miller

Trish Miller has been teaching and performing Appalachian clogging since 1980. She plays guitar, banjo and mandolin, and also calls dances and has choreographed country routines for theater and concerts. Trish gained professional dance experience with the Green Grass Cloggers, and performed with them internationally as well as across the U.S. Since 1985, Trish and her husband, John Kirk, have been working together as teaching artists in school music and dance programs.

Dan Duggan

Dan Duggan is a nationally-known performer and teacher, as well as one of the finest hammered-dulcimer players and composers in the country. As recipient of the prestigious National Hammered Dulcimer Championship, Dan's accomplishment is even more considerable as he is the first winner to have performed all original compositions. He is a member of the Susquehanna String Band, a trio which has performed two pieces, "The Celtic Suite" and "The Americana Suite" in concert with several symphony orchestras throughout the country. The Susquehanna String Band has released three recordings including, "The Cloths of Heaven," "North Country" and "Singing All The Way Home." Dan strives to bring traditional music and instrumentation to audiences unfamiliar with this genre of music through his innovative blending of traditional instrumentation and creative musical format.
