Program #20716RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Mr. Craig Hemphill

Craig Hemphill is an ACBL Certified Teacher and has 7500 master points, making him an Emerald Life Master. He has been playing bridge through ACBL clubs and tournaments for close to 40 years. He was editor of the Florida Bridge News (a publication of Unit 128 of the American Contract Bridge League) for seven years, and served Unit 128's president and member of the board of directors. Since resigning as board member, he has continued to act as Unit 128's attorney and attends board meetings in that capacity. Craig has served as Unit 128's and District 9's Ethics Committee Chairman, and has presided over many trials regarding player conduct. He is the past interim president of the Jacksonville School of bridge and presently on the board. He has taught every week at the Jacksonville club for the past 2 1/2 years, and is a certified club director who currently runs a 299er game with lectures.

Alex Brough

Teaching bridge is Alex Brough's “second career” since he retired from a 30-year career as an insurance broker in 2001 and relocated to coastal Georgia with his wife, Lois. Sensing a growing interest in bridge locally, Alex became a certified ACBL director and founded two duplicate bridge clubs. He enjoys the flair of tournament play and earned the distinction of Bronze Life Master. He is an ACBL certified teacher and director, member of the American Bridge Teachers Association and recipient of his Unit’s 2010 Goodwill Award. Alex is president of Coastal Georgia Bridge Unit 202, and has served for approximately 300 days as bridge director for cruise lines. He is also a retired commander of the U.S. Navy reserves, with 25 years active duty and reserve service as a Russian linguist and intelligence officer. He is an active golfer, bicyclist and tennis player, and enjoys travelling internationally.
