EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Please note that changes may occur.

Ray Kriese

Ray Kriese is a docent at the National Park Service’s Petroglyph National Monument in New Mexico and has illustrated numerous publications regarding the monument. He graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis and served in the Air Force before beginning a 35-year career in human resources for a global manufacturing corporation. Since retiring Ray has had the chance to indulge his lifelong passions for history, archeology, geology and art.

Mr. Kirt Kempter

Kirt Kempter received his Ph.D. in geology from the University of Texas at Austin and has visited and studied plate tectonics and related volcanism around the world, including Iceland, Costa Rica, Mexico, and South America. A Fulbright Fellow, Kirt now works for the U.S. Geological Survey as a field geologist, studying the volcanic history of the Jemez Mountains in northern New Mexico.

Dr. Patricia Dickerson

Pat Dickerson's research on the rifts and mountain chains of the world has provided ample opportunities for wide-ranging explorations — she has journeyed along and studied the Rocky Mountains, Iceland, New Zealand, the Rio Grande rift and more. She applies her studies to astronaut crew training, academic instruction, and leading natural history field seminars, and was the recipient of the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal and the Team Innovation Award from Johnson Space Center.
