Deborah Lester, an artist for 30 years, paints in several mediums but is primarily a watercolorist. She won numerous awards, and most recently, received the Best of Show at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg's Season of Color Exhibit for "Coal Tipple Memories," an oil painting of a tipple in Wyoming Co. where she grew up. She likes to paint scenes of Appalachia and the people and culture that represent the beauty of West Virginia. She now lives in Shady Spring and paints in her home studio.

Ms. Jerre Watkins

Jerre Watkins is a fourth-generation artist who has been painting for more than 30 years. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Jerre received a bachelor’s degree in interior design, and later received her master’s from Marshall University. She began teaching art in 1987, and her works can be found in corporate and private collections in West Virginia and surrounding states. Although watercolor is her first love, Jerre enjoys painting in varied and mixed media with a focus on design.
